Awful experience from start to end, I am still not entirely convinced that they weren't being paid by the sellers. It would explain a lot.
Not very professional, leaving clients waiting whilst they "look for" documents that they seem to have lost. It's been days, I've called multiple times, and not even to call back after telling me they would. Not a single moment of respect for me as a client. Outrageous.
I found the service we received terrible. Communication was infrequent (it took days to receive email replies), unclear and very unfriendly. We had no awareness of what would happen and when, the process was never explained. I had to phone in to understand what was happening, but phone lines were often busy. Mistakes were made on the forms, even though the correct information had been provided. We felt extremely disappointed by the way we were treated. This all caused us significant stress and anxiety.
Bought our house via Simpson and Marwick and they were exceptionally poor. Continually vague and unresponsive with our solicitor eg we moved in without knowing what white goods were in the house despite multiple requests for a simple list of what would and wouldn't be in the kitchen/ utility. Would in no way recommend.
Very unprofessional and rude. Awfully experience I ever have. Set a misleading pricing to get your business and no strategy at all. Can I rate minus star.
Without doubt the worst solicitor I have dealt with. Heather is who I dealt with and she was not helpful one bit, it actually sounded like it was a chore to try and help me, I had to do everything, kept chasing her and then 10 days before my mortgage was to renew she told me it’s been pulled. The stress she has caused is mad and I’m pretty positive she won’t bat an eyelid. Pitiful. If you’re using them, ask NOT to deal with Heather.
Terrible experience, not paying invoices sent to them and getting billed them 3 months after moving. Shocking reply’s been nothing but hassle from start to finish. Taking time off work to sort documents that had already been signed and sent back. Also received an email 2 months after moving saying they needed me to sign something I had already done twice then once I had printed off document and signed again I got another email to say it wasn’t needed. Also to add I drove to edinburgh to get this done faster because excuses of the post didn’t arrive.
Very unprofessional and non responsive. Not recommended. I would not use Simpson & Marwick to deal with my property.
