We bought a house in Anerley, which Streets Ahead were marketing. We found out dealings with the estate agents to be fine, but they've spoilt our opinion of the company by refusing to collect their "SOLD" sign, from the front of our house. We've phoned several times and they keep fobbing us off, hoping we'll take the sign to the tip on their behalf.
It’s taken me three months to get my tenancy deposit back and that’s only because I got the tenancy deposit scheme people involved. These agents started ignoring my emails after I moved out, didn’t even bother to communicate or give any explanation for the delay. They also allowed the landlord into the flat without my consent on one occasion. Avoid these agents if you are a tenant.
Due to a lack of training of the employees at this company (Mo) I could be out over £1000. I also spoke to management and they have only agreed to retrain their employee. There was no effort to help me recover the money I have lost due to their lack of due diligence.
I had an appointment to look at a house on October 27th and today I went and half an hour before our meeting they asked me for information about my annual earnings, I sent it and I had already informed them by phone. A week ago I came from …
STOP leaving your lights on at night. It shines into all of the Leon House flats and there’s severe light pollution in our apartments. We are unable to get any sleep. …
I must have enquired about a property or signed up via Zoopla at some point about 2 months ago and this estate agents just will not leave me alone, I receive approx 6-10 emails a day from various estate agents and phone calls daily even though I have blocked their number they call me from other numbers. I have unsubscribed please stop contacting me it’s doing too much and so annoying
The most amateur, unprofessional bordering on fraudulent company I have ever had the experience of doing business with. No reply to phone calls, no reply to messages, no reply to emails. The property I rented was riddled with Rubbish and fire alarm issues. The London Fire Brigade called out on 5 separate occasions over one weekend. Nothing was ever done by Streets Ahead despite being notified by tenants. If you are looking for a lettings agency to ensure a smooth process, do not use this company.
Very very worst agency I never ever seen like this before. Please don’t believe with this agency, please don’t proceed with this agency. No response to call , no response to message and mail. There is no responsible person for our house also . We have so many small small issues and we have big issues with hot water. We are making call and mail for that issues for last 2 months . Not a 2 days 2 months. Still no response. Everyone is saying and blaming other people or otherwise they will say the responsible person or the landlord is on leave like that , they are saying chilly reason. Still our issues are not evaluated. It’s very very very worst agency. Please don’t believe this people.
Very unprofessional letting company to deal with. This branch is managed by Daisy Mills who is impossible to get through and doesn't return calls or emails. IF you do get through to Daisy, she is particularly unhelpful when trying to deal with any issues reported. Make sure to have everything you deal with this company in writing/email to have as evidence, they are known to lie and go against your property contract. They do not reply to phone calls or call back when a message is left and also ignore emails when you issues were reported. You have to chase Streets Ahead to get anything fixed or addressed in their properties. They neglect and ignore maintenance issues with their properties, then when you leave try to charge you for these same repairs out of your deposit. My property had many issues including damp and a roof leak but issues were ignored and reported as normal "wear and tear". Also had ongoing fire alarm issues for months where the London Fire Brigade called out many occasions, the list goes on. If you are looking for a reliable lettings agency, do not use this company.
Having dealt with Streets Ahead for over a year whilst renting a property that was managed by them, I cannot recommend that tenants and landlords avoid them enough. They are unprofessional, unresponsive and unhelpful. Having found the property through Streets Ahead and having a good experience, we couldn’t have known the trouble that would come from moving over to the property managing team. The property had not been cleaned in between tenants, which we raised and were ignored, we were not made aware of things like how to pay our water bill even after asking multiple times, there were things broken in the property that we were promised would be fixed but were never even looked at and the list goes on. When moving out, they tried to tell us that our notice period was much longer than it was, say that we were liable for cleaning fees (which is illegal and the property was left in a better state when we left to when we arrived) and when returning the key to the office, no one even confirmed that they had been received, even after chasing it up. The cherry on the cake was that it took 4 months for our deposit to be returned and only after we chased multiple times and had to eventually raise it with our deposit agency. We then agreed an amount to be returned through the deposit agency, to which a smaller amount was returned. Taking an unagreed amount of a deposit away is detrimental to people’s next steps. Unfortunately, we are not in a position that we can push this any further and it is clear that they are aware and preying on this. I can imagine we are not the first that they have taken advantage of and will not be the last. I can only highly advise tenants and landlords alike to avoid streets Ahead at all costs. Specifically the Croydon branch.
