We purchased with Curchods and found them to be an efficient agent with good clear communication. In our search they were the agent that stuck most closely to the brief in terms of what they suggested. Overall good to deal with and if we ever sell (I hope we don't any time soon as I love the house) we would be likely to use then.

Oliver handled our purchase of 15 Pennyfield extremely well, he was helpful and professional at all times. I would definitely recommend Curchods to friends.

I was a buyer, and one of their staff misled me by saying my reserve deposit would count toward the final price. In the end, I lost my £6.7k deposit because I only found out at the end that the reserve price is actually on top of the final price. By then, it was too late to cancel without losing the money anyway. Which auction house charges both the buyer and seller? I wouldn’t recommend them as a buyer. I have no experience as a seller, but based on this, I’d never use them again.

Hi Adam, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience. However, we do feel it’s important to clarify a few points for transparency. The reservation fee structure is clearly outlined in several places throughout the process: - On the original property advert - Within the full Terms & Conditions, which are agreed to when a buyer registers to bid online - On the Reservation Form issued signed and shared with all parties including the buyers solicitors after a bid is accepted In each of these documents it states that the reservation fee is payable in addition to the purchase price, rather than forming part of it. Our model is the Modern Method of Auction, which operates differently to a traditional purchase. The reservation fee secures the property and grants the exclusivity period to exchange contracts. As with all auction-style transactions, the fee is non-refundable once agreed, unless specific contractual conditions apply. We would also like to clarify that Bid does not charge the seller a fee in these transactions. Our fee is paid solely by the buyer via the reservation agreement. The local estate agent may charge the seller for the marketing of their property. We’re always happy to discuss any concerns directly and review communications if there is a belief something was unclear. Transparency is extremely important to us, and we work hard to ensure buyers fully understand the process before committing and I hope that is clear from other positive experiences reviewed here. Our Managing Director Dan has reached out to you and If you would like to contact us directly, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

I have worked here for 2 months, from August to October of this year, with the thought and plan to make some income for myself. In these 2 months of working for Humphrey & Kirk, I have received £0.00. I highly…. HIGHLY don’t recommend this company. It honestly felt like I had just done Volunteering. Having wasted time that I could’ve spent with my family. With the mindset of making a small income for myself. It being my first job, thinking that I had finally been given the chance that I was looking for, and didn’t even make enough for a coffee. I am never coming back here again.

Had an interaction with Scott Carson and Alkesh Majevadia at the Kingston Branch of Curchods and was disgusted that they are using COVID -19 as a basis to obtain confidential information and screen buyers. They insisted that they were acting in the interest of the Vendors and refused to arrange an appointment to view 29 Avenue Road KT 1 unless I provide details of the deposit amount I would be putting down and mortgage provider. When informed that insisting a person provide such Confidential Information to make an appointment was potentially a breach of the GDPR Regulations they went on to try and justify their actions by saying that it was for safety reasons! People have died from this Pandemic and key workers have put their lives at risk daily to save people regardless of their economic status! COVID 19 is not a screening opportunity for estate agents nor is it a money making opportunity! Nobody would put themselves in a position to ask for an appointment to view a property at these trying times if they were not serious buyers. Further if anyone came to view a property they are in just as much risk as the next person and a first viewing does not translate into an immediate offer! So the reasons that you are seeking this information from buyers is potentially unlawful and a breach of their privacy but more importantly is disgusting and self serving, Next time you turn up for an appointment at the doctors perhaps they should request your financial capability/status to pay for medical assistance before treating you - just to keep doctors safe and to make sure you are not wasting their time given the pressures of COVID 19!

We are in the middle of a public health emergency. We must make sure that we do not present any unnecessary risks to our clients by conducting physical viewings in their homes, who we are not absolutely certain are in a position to go ahead with the purchase. The only way we are able to do this is to ascertain details of how the purchase will be funded. Hopefully this explanation helps you fully understand why these details were requested and in light of this please feel free to contact Scott at our Kingston branch if you are still interested in an appointment to view the property in question.
