It's so upsetting and anxiety provoking when I fulfil everything I have to, keeping my flat in an immaculate condition, furnish it like it's your own, always pay rent, make improvements at my own cost, to be treated so terribly unfairly. My beautiful 70s theme lounge has had mould, damp, water leakage since moving in. I've reported everything, as is my duty but repairs are left to get worse and I'm agued with and sometimes even blamed!! My beautiful furniture / items are now damaged and have not been restored /replaced. I've just had to replace the washing machine that's never worked, too. It's hard to feel safe when immediate neighbours are inappropriate and involved with disability hate, ASB and again nothing's done. It's really difficult and depressing. Private renting in this town is hellish. There should be more help and regulation to protect fabulous tenants like me. I more than fulfil my obligations. I'm afraid letting agents and landlords repeatedly do not.

It is unfortunate to know that when you deal with certain companies that the human element is none existent. Life happens and usually compromises can be met. So if you are happy to deal with a company that is just business focused CJ Hole is fine, as the customer is not their main priority, just what is transacted through the books.
C J Hole advertised a flat in Montpellier Chelternham as a two bedroom flat while Cheltenham Council had imposed a Prohibition/restriction under the Housing Act 2004 section 20 for any person NOT to habitate one of the rooms on healthy and safety grounds ... i.e. this was a one bedroom flat with a potential storage room full stop. C J ignored all that legal requirement and deceptively marketed the flat as a two bedroom and set rent as if it was a two bedroom flat. Thorough viewing was not possible during Covid restrictions so I obtained the flat under the assumption C J Hole were honest and signed a contract in good faith and based on the deceptive marketing information provided by C J Hole. I became aware of the restriction only when Cheltenham Council surprisingly contacted me later to inspect the flat if the restriction/Prohibition was being complied with. When I challenged C J Hole about why they had tricked me by withholding crucial information about the flat on the non-inevitability of one on the bedrooms when I had made it clear I was after a two bedroom flat they came with dodgy excuses first. Instead of apologising C J Hole opted to force me to pay a new out of the market rent ignoring the fact that it's them who had trapped me into a property not suitable to my needs. On objecting to their demands they started bombarding me with relentless threats and harassment emails - ignoring the fact that it's them who had withheld crucial information when they tricked me into a tenancy agreement. At another huge cost I had to look for another two bedroom just a few months after moving into their flat - a stressful, costly and daunting timing consuming exercise. C J Hole showed no regret let alone care! C J Hole are part of the small percentage of estate agents that put money before anything else: a reckless, no concern for tenants welfare, rogue and a criminal estate agent to avoid!

When we arrived, the house was just completely the opposite, including mould on all of the windows, damage to the ceiling and dirt everywhere. Have just been rang approximately 3 weeks after I scheduled an advanced valuation request for the 26th October to be told albeit politely that "CJ Hole based on current demands are wishing to place their focus on houses and not flats- this is where the demand is currently at". Approx 3 weeks earlier having completed the form on their website i was rang and told that they are swamped by demand and to try elsewhere as there are no appointments over the next couple of weeks. I politely informed them that if they check their booking system they will see that i have booked for around 6 weeks time. "Oh sorry - i was told, our calendar system doesn't work so it hadn't told us what date you were interested in". I will leave others to decide whether they feel this level of service is professional or not but for me Its akin to a taxi driver at Heathrow airport deciding that your short trip fare is not worth it as they'd rather pick up a more lucrative passenger. That's fine but this is a 2-way street - perhaps others will vote with their feet, as CJ Hole clearly value some business more than others......I will cancel the accommodation i had booked and will no longer head 100+ miles out of my way to help my vulnerable mother who is in residential care since CJ Hole would rather enrich themselves with a more lucrative portfolio. ***CJ Hole has replied with "Our database of buyers is not the best fit for your property, and it is only right and proper to communicate this honestly from the outset. We wish you good luck with your mother's sale."*** Except that you didn't communicate that - perhaps you should listen to your recorded calls. You stated that your focus is now on houses not flats and at no time did you say or allude to "our database of buyers is not the best fit". Considering you haven't seen the property which is a 2 bed centrally located apartment with no onward chain you obviously care more about your reputational damage and less about acting ethically. You currently have apartments on sale for as little as £99,000 so the idea that that your appealing to a certain demographic is frankly delusions of grandeur.***NegativeProfessionalism
