This is the second google review I have left in my life. I was totally shocked by the treatment I received today by this estate agent. To find the property for the viewing appointment, I first typed the address given on the estate agent's website (Benbrook Court, Plymouth Road, Totnes) into google maps, but it gave no results. Ok, shouldn't be a problem I thought, I'll just use the map they provide on their page. So I got to the exact location they gave, but there was no house by that name. I walked up and down, but no luck. So I phoned the agent, still a couple of minutes early. They were nice enough, and suggested I use street view. I did, from their page, and that showed the house on the opposite side of the street that I was on, but in exactly the place I was at least. However this was not the right address either! Finally they were able to get the agent on site to phone me after I request that he do so or just come out onto the street. He was fairly rude, told me to google something that I could not hear him say, so I asked him to message me it instead. He hung up abruptly. I waited for a minute but with no text, I called him back. He told me he had messaged me and when I said I received no text, he asked me if I had any phone reception - a rather odd question to ask someone with whom you are on the phone! In the end I just walked to the end of the road, still on the phone, and actually found him, 130 yards away from the given location on the website, and up a little side road. (The actual property was even further away). He was extremely unwelcoming and said something about being in a hurry. So I politely said that I was in the right place according to their website, early, did my best, and that I hope he understands it was not my fault I was late. He responded to this with anger, saying I should have prepared beforehand. WOW!!! I was so shocked! I asked him, "Are you really blaming me for being late, when I was early, at the exact place your website gave on the map and street view..." Then he insisted yes it was my fault, I should have googled it. Well, I HAD put it into google maps, there were no results! But he didn't even believe that (not that that should even be relevant since his website gave the wrong map location!), and said angrily something like "Do you want us to let this property to you or not?" (Which seems to me like saying 'Let me abuse you otherwise I won't even show you the property'). I have never received such appalling customer service. It is so very easy to just say "I am so sorry that we provided the wrong location" or something like that. Or even if you really don't want to admit any fault, just "Nice to meet you, glad you finally found me" or whatever. Well, it turns out that this man was actually the boss, Daniel. He handed me off to Mike, who actually showed me around. Mike was fantastic - warm and professional. The polar opposite of Daniel. It saddens me to even write this review but, I guess that's what reviews are for - sharing experiences of a company's service. And since it's his own company, I doubt my report to the company office will go anywhere. I never could have imagined such bad service as this. Update: I have just now seen the reply given below by this company, which includes: "During your recent viewing, our staff member ended the appointment due to inappropriate language." That is an outright lie. The staff member, Mike, was great. I was shown the whole property (which was unsuitable for me - in particular there was no cooker/oven, which he said was 'normal'!). The boss, Daniel, was still hanging around outside by the end of my viewing. So this nonsense about my appointment being ended is a total fiction. Quite sad that the boss would treat a customer so badly and then lie about it to try to look like he wasn't in the wrong, on the internet, though I guess that fits his pattern of behaviour in blaming me for being late after I was in fact early but his own listing gave the wrong location.
Run from this letting agency as far as you can. I have been letting shared accommodation for over decade but this letting agency is the worst and discriminatory with no interest in tenants. Their solution for sorting out problems is to get rid of tenants. They do not care at all.
I requested a viewing this morning and I was told that I am not the right candidate for this property. There was a rude guy, I think his name is David Walker having bad manners and not experience at all in sales. I asked his name and he refused to give me that information. It is very dissapointing that a small estate agent like EWEmove has this huge pretensions and poor customer service.
Communication very poor and at a snails pace at best. 24 hours for support to deal with a basic enquiry. Holding me to an exit fee for 18 months which will be challegend by our solicitors. Website is not performing correctly and Homeflow just inerested in hiding behind small print and charging monthly fees. Customer service i wish it could be zero instaed of a 1star.
Avoid. Highly unprofessional, unreliable, and a total scam. Sarah Fitton is exactly as others have reviewed her, dishonest and a scam. She takes your money for her property management services, and she doesn’t deliver at all, on the …
I would give zero stars if it were possible. I would urge anyone to stay away from properties managed by them. We received a property that was not cleaned and was also utterly filthy upon moving in. It also had plenty of structural issues that were never disclosed, leading to issues such as leaks and structural damage. These were never fixed while we were there since it takes so long for them to provide people to check up on the property. Additionally, note that they will take an exorbitant amount of money for the cleaning fee at the end - we spent days cleaning the property before moving out and nearly £400 was still taken from our deposit purely for ‘cleaning purposes’. You will lose much of your deposit and unless you go for a legal dispute, there is nothing you can do about it. Avoid at all costs.
I want to pre-warn any estate agents out there who are considering joining Homeflow: stay away, especially if you are heavily focused on marketing and value being at the top of Google. Yes, you may have had (or will have) a presentation where they promise you the world. If you don’t understand marketing, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking their system is great. Don’t get me wrong - there are some positives, but the system itself is completely outdated. A simple WordPress website, set up correctly, will absolutely outrank a Homeflow website. If you are a multi-branch estate agency, be prepared: they will absolutely milk you by charging per branch. So, if you’re thinking of expanding, know that they’ll just keep charging more - because they can. Hosting does not cost anywhere near what they make out, yet their service is even more shocking. Whenever something needs to be done, they either try to charge you for it or tell you to do it yourself. We have creative people working for us, and even they find the system over-complicated and difficult to use. It’s a shame I have to write this, but I want to warn others. We were lied to initially by salespeople who promised that “anything can be done” and that they could implement any change. In reality, all they do is build you a website using one of their templates (which they also charge you for) and then add costs for anything extra. Their system is so locked down that most marketing-related tasks can’t even be done without additional charges. Communication is awful. They’ve taken over a month to respond to some issues, and we’ve had to constantly chase them. In the last 12 months, our website has gone fully down at least twice. I honestly don’t know how they have the audacity to keep charging for a service that delivers so little. The only thing I’m looking forward to now is ending our contract, moving to real developers, and building a truly custom site the way we want it - something that will still work out cheaper in the long run than what Homeflow is charging.
Terrible communication. Had a viewing booked and without any explanation they cancelled my viewing and took the property offline. Useless
The worst customer service and worst agency to rent through. After then end of my tenancy they urged me to return keys, before checking on property state, and then accused me of non- existent damages, fortunately I had video records of everything in the flat before I leave. They refused to return my deposit until I went through a complaint to the deposit scheme. Very rude and never fixed any issues I reported in the property. I highly disrecommend
