We both sold and purchased through Miller Metcalfe. Our property sold quickly but our purchase was very problematic through no fault of Miller Metcalfe which meant that we had to break chain and so it was quickly escalated to one of their sales directors, Emma. One way to describe Emma is like a dog with a bone. She didn't give up when everyone else wanted to, including us! She chased and chased incompetent 'professionals' until they finally did their jobs over and over again resulting in our purchase finally being successful in the eleventh hour! Emma went above and beyond and kept us fully informed at all times. Even though I am NEVER moving again, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Miller Metcalfe to anyone looking to buy or sell.
Miller Metcalfe where very helpful when letting the property, but trying to get your bond back is a bit difficult. Handed my keys back a week early 26th July, had the house cleaned top to bottom and the garden done. Also when I moved in there were no Lamp shades, curtain rails, curtains or blinds. I had these fitted and have left them in. Its now 1st of August 4 phone calls and still no bond its just short of £1,000 It feels like they are trying to keep it longer than necessary, but this is probably not the case.
No help what so ever all they want is your money and once they have it shut the door on you also very bad communication to busy chase in money instead of correcting problems
RENTING: I would give 0 stars if this was possible. Their customer service is next to non-existent. When we gave our notice period of leaving there was one problem after another after another (you get my drift.). It seems they do not reply to emails unless you copy the Managing Director into the email. (It is freely available to find his email address on the internet). It was so bad, that for 2 months AFTER moving out (with all rents paid & up to date) they were still asking for our rent for that month on a property we had vacated! The list seems endless (I could keep going on about the issues we had over the 3 years) and I would avoid at all costs. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
I have to agree with Jue Cas review. What a huge mistake I made instructing this branch. Initial visit with Leanne, I felt positive that they could sell my property but once they had my instruction communication was exceptionally poor with emails not being answered, being told 'they are in the morning briefing I will ask someone to call you back' so many times with no return phonecall (I can evidence all this!!) Dreadful customer service. I had my property on the market and had absolutely no interest whatsoever and no viewings the photographs did not showcase the best of my property and were poor. I kept asking what steps were being taken to even get a viewing and was fobbed off with poor excuses. I therefore gave my notice with Miller Metcalfe, switched to a different estate agent who sold my property. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company.
Very poor customer service. House valuation was way too high, completely off. No initiatives to make things move on with the sale (except the last few weeks when notice period started because we ended contract). Not kept in the loop: no systematic info as to when we had viewings and no systematic feedback. To avoid if you need to sell a property.
