We are really disappointed to read what wonderful service everyone seems to have had from Inter County BS as this was not our experience at all! The communication was dreadful, Doug the "super progressor" only contacted us once and got all the information wrong, after which we didn't hear from him again & were told he was usually good but was snowed under, not our problem! The Branch Manager took over our account but wasn't much better and eventually we were "helped" by the Area Director. When we complained we were offered a paltry amount of compensation considering the fee charged & the lack of support we received. I would say that if you are lucky you might get good service, we were obviously unlucky and ended up doing most of the sorting out & chasing ourselves! We were VERY disappointed with the service we received so in all honesty couldn't recommend them.
I have given a 2 star review not because or how Doug conducted himself but the way the company as a whole dealt with a Divorce settlement sale. would not be recommending Inter County as a go to estate agent in Bishops Stortford. the smaller firms are much more friendly and customer focused

From the very beginning, the agency proved to be extremely disorganized. The staff showed no communication among themselves, leaving us constantly bombarded with irrelevant emails that had nothing to do with our tenancy. On top of that, their attitude was consistently condescending. Whenever we requested information, the responses we received carried an air of superiority. I genuinely felt that, because we are Spanish, we were treated with less respect than British clients. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive. The worst part came at the end of the tenancy. We left the flat in immaculate condition—spotless, tidy, and perfectly maintained. Despite this, the agency withheld a significant portion of our deposit. They claimed £446 for cleaning and an additional £110 for carpet cleaning, charges that were completely manufactured since the property was already in pristine condition. When we challenged this, their only response was to suggest we open a dispute with Mydeposit, knowing full well that this would only drag the process out and cause further frustration. To conclude, I strongly advise: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY if you value your deposit, your time, and being treated with basic respect. Very poor experience with Intercounty’s Home Move team over our deposit return. Despite paying for a professional deep clean, they tried to deduct £200 for cleaning, £100 for a tiny carpet mark, and £50 for minor wall scuffs (which are clearly fair wear and tear). We spent weeks chasing, with our deposit withheld for a full month after moving out, and no invoice ever provided for the supposed cleaning charge. Only after constant emails did they finally reduce the deductions to £50 for the carpet. Unprofessional, slow, and unnecessarily stressful. Tenants should not have to fight this hard to get their own money back.
Did not do a good job with our sale. Half the viewings were FAKE. Do not use. Lednor sold our property with one viewing. They now look like have changed name to (Fine and County) are useless.
This horrible experience came back to me as I drove past Intercounty the other day. My partner and I were looking to rent a property from them back in April this year. Natasha had seemed pleasant at first, however that changed after we questioned her actions and the money she'd happily taken wouldn't be returned to us as she didn't do her research properly. Thankfully PM Estates were able to help us out very satisfactorily and we found a property soon after. Unfortunately it was Natasha's poor understanding of lettings, her arrogance and stubbornness that meant we'd been left out of pocket and incurred other delay costs too. Hugely disappointing experience and put me off Intercounty completely.
Not happy! Had arranged a viewing with Harry several days in advance and arranged my travel from Ireland to Stansted Mountfitchet to view a property as moving to London. After landing at Stansted, at 9am, received a call to say they had accepted another offer and my 11am viewing was cancelled. Massive inconvenience and expense for something they clearly knew was likely, as the offer must have been made the day before for the landlord to review. Very disappointed and will not recommend.
STAY AWAY They asked me to leave a 5 star review before I moved in please ignore that and PLEASE DON’T RENT FROM HERE. It’s nightmarish, lists and lists of issues that they promised to sort out in March 2024. My fridge is broken and it’s taken 2 people (the 3rd coming soon) and months of waiting to tell me it’s broken. My extractor fan is old and tiny so the bathroom ceiling is covered in mould and they painted my bathroom with paint that isn’t suited for bathrooms so it retains water thus causing more mould. Most of my windows have been broken with large cracks going down them which happened before I moved in which haven’t been sorted. Me and my partner have had countless days off to accommodate these people and yet nothing gets done. I’m currently writing this as my boiler has randomly given out. I beg you stay away
