I sold my property earlier this year. I cannot give 5 stars because there were a few issues. However I would like to say that Corrie Goodhew was very efficient, dealing with problems and keeping me up to date with the progress of the sale at all stages.
Many thanks to Neil, Corrie and all the staff who helped with my recent purchase. A professional team who were always on hand to help with any enquiries i had. Thank you all once again.
Good
Initially attentive and efficient service from Stuart, Sam and the team at Barnehurst to set up but have since been disappointed with the response of the company dealing with what I perceive to be an unfair administration fee.
Having been to over a dozen viewings, this was by far the worst. We had a woman called Tina. We turned up 15mins early for our viewing, arriving at the same time as the agent whilst the owner was home. We said we would happily wait outside until our slot but the friendly owner said she was going to show the agent round as it was the first viewing and invited us to join. Tina did not even say hi and proceeded with the tour with a grumpy face all throughout. After the owner helpfully showed us round for 15mins she left us to explore for ourselves. However, right after the owner left, Tina turned to us to say she was tight for time and basically told us to get out. Notwithstanding that because we were early, it was this time we would have begun our viewing anyway! She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Having said that it seems the other colleagues of the branch are more hospitable. So maybe it’s a luck of the agent.
Our 2-star review is based on the end-to-end process with Robinson Jackson Bexleyheath. Sales Negotiator (Corrie Goodhew) was great. She notified us of a new house and we booked a viewing immediately. She helped us to secure the acceptance of our offer. However, following that, things started to slip (unrelated to Sales but more like their back office operations). We had to wait longer than expected for a Memo of Sales and throughout the entire process, we received little or out-dated progress updates. In fact, we received regular updates from the estate agent who was responsible for the sale of our residence at that point in time. From, Mr A & Mrs M Oelofse, Bexleyheath
Unfortunately, Robinson Jackson dropped the ball on this one. As you can see in the photos attached, this was the state our flat was in when we went there on Saturday in order to move in our things. As we walked into the house there were obvious holes in the carpeting in the living room, a hole in the ceiling of the kitchen and also on the kitchen wall leading to the outside. There was a leak from the ceiling hole that had filled the stove top and the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were very obviously not cleaned at all, with the fridge smelling like rotten food and vomit. There was also someone using our electricity in order to do building work upstairs, something that we were not told about when we picked up our keys on Friday, which is a clear violation of our tenancy agreement. When we brought this up with one of the letting agents, she mentioned that we needed to contact the landlord in regards to getting our deposit and rent money back, but there obviously was no inspection done before we were given any keys, as the place is nigh uninhabitable. This is such poor management of the flat - even if you're a let only place, you have a duty to check the properties you're letting and make sure they are actually habitable. I will be contacting the local council's environmental health department about this property's conditions, as I'm sure there's a bunch of health and safety breaches, as there's water near electrical fixtures and all over the gas-top oven. Furthermore, I now have moving costs alongside storage costs due to Robinson Jackson's inability to do their job properly.
Very bad experience as a tenant. They asked for a pay increase of 37.5% after our two year contract ended forcing us to move out. On the six month scheduled visits to inspect the property they have been taking photos of our private space including our belongings without authorisation. The deposit protection scheme is a scam as they are holding the deposit under a sister company so you don’t win even if you challenge the charges that are drying to deduct some nice they are the same people deciding . We do lot recommend this agency to anyone. Very bad experience.
