They do not get back to you if you enquire about buying a property. It is their loss as I can still see that the property is being reduced on rightmove. They did not give me a viewing for the property either. Shocking service!

Thank you for your review . We have checked and have no such name in our systems so please feel free to call me so as I can better understand why you chose to give one star. Jak Kypri

We rented through Harpers and when we moved out our landlord wanted to take a load of money out of our deposit for no good reason. So we said we were going to dispute it with the DPS (Deposit Protection Scheme) and our landlord said we needed to take it up with Harpers. But Harpers said we needed to take it up with our landlord and in the end our landlord was pretty rubbish (and wish I could review him on Google!) and so were Harpers. Harpers ignored lots of my emails, including chaser ones, and when I called I would often be told it was not their issue or they would call me back (and never did). Eventually I think they realised I wasn't going away and so they put me through to the director (who I think is called Jak) and his manor was dismissive and unfriendly. Jack said "What's a few hundred quid to a few young lads" and when I said I wasn't happy for our landlord to wrongfully take £300 from us I could tell he was frustrated and he abruptly ended the call. While Jak / Harpers may have not have seen it as their issue, our landlord insisted it was, and either way I would still have been hoped to have been treated with the same respect that Hapers showed when they were taking our money at the start of the tenancy. Hopefully our experiences with Harpers aren't the norm and I wish Jak and the team all the best. Oh, and if you're interested to hear how the story ended, after an 8 month struggle with Harpers and our landlord, we finally managed to lodge our dispute with the DPS and last week we heard news that we won our appeal and have been awarded back our £300. Good times

Jonathan, as I explained to your friend you were sharing with, Harpers merely found you as tenants. We did not manage the tenancy our client did. Your review is lodged at us when we did not deduct or have anything to do with the deposit. A little unfair Id say. You could always call me as we are happy to explain and assist.

Booked a free valuation with Harpers on Friday 13th August 21 with the MD Jak Kypri for 11am. He called on the morning to change to 1pm due some other engagements, so i agreed. He then turned up around 20 mins late. And literally walked in and spent less than 5 mins in the property. No measurements taken and didnt even see our garden room until i told him. He wasnt bothered at all. He just said he would email with the valuation of which im still waiting for. No response, nothing. Very poor service and lack of professionalism. He told me he only deals with high end properties which is fair enough but dont agree to a valuation only to not follow through on giving one.NegativeProfessionalism

Mr Deo, not quite accurate I am afraid, I spent over 30 mins with you and inspected your house and then tried speaking with you whilst you insisted on wet shaving your head in the mirror. Secondly, Agents do not take measurements unless they are instructed. Thirdly, I am sorry we did not agree on the valuation figure I gave you but your welcome to use another agent until you find one that agrees with your own valuation and understanding of the residential market.

EDIT: Despite all of the "facts" Harpers kindly stated in their response to my original review, we were the winners of the DPS claim. We got our deposits back. Fact. Despite Harpers being helpful at the start (when they want your money), good luck getting your deposit back if you're renting with them. We moved out more than 7 months ago and have chased them constantly with no response. They have also failed to respond to the deposit protection scheme over the money that is in dispute. So the money is sat with the protection scheme with neither party being able to access it. Maybe the deposit isn't worth the hassle for Harpers, but it certainly is for someone renting who can't afford to lose such a significant amount of money. If you are reading this I'd also suggest reading the other negative reviews. Harper's standard response is to imply they are lying and I look forward to that same response here :) All in all, shocking customer service. And on the odd occasion we've been able to speak to a manager on the phone they have been incredibly rude.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Joshua I reiterate my previous response which was courteous and accurate. We merely found you as tenants and the delay rest with our client, a pilot who manages his property not us. Your client is an international pilot and is resident overseas so any delay is his and due to work not an estate agent being tardy, duplictous or bad...simple. No shenanigans here I am afraid. I was, and am always happy to speak on the phone and our team of staff have always been helpful. You can call me for an explanation if you wish. Joshua, thank you for your review. You will note that we did not manage your property and merely found you and your friends the house. There was a delay with deposits but you fail to appreciate that it was your landlords responsibility to liaise and supply the deposit. The flat was left in poor condition as evidenced by the inventory and your landlord made a claim. Fact. This was taken to the DPS. Fact All of these things take time. Finally, you fail to appreciate that your deposit was lumped in with a group of others which is not straight forward process. Your were explained this but obviously didn't understand. We hold high standards to our tenants and the fact your landlord was disappointed with the condition you left his property in is why your deposit took some time to come back to you. Harpers and Co strives to provide excellent service to all its tenants and landlords.

Jak spoke of being 'different' to other estate agents and as I warmed to his approach, we agreed in principle that they would take control of the sale of our house. I sent an email when we returned from holiday asking questions and wishing to clarify matters in regards to the contract and requesting that someone come and collect the contract from us as Bexley is not ideal for parking. 5 days passed until I had a missed call from the office. No message was left though. I only knew it was Harpers because I Googled the phone number. As my original email had not been responded to, I forwarded it on and asked further questions. The following day I received a reply but it still didn't address the main questions that I had asked. The email ended with "I will follow up with a call later to see when you would like to book us in to take the property on". I sent one further reply and then awaited the phone call. As the days went by, I got tired of waiting. We instructed an EPC privately at a cost of £45 (check the government website for certified assessors), he mentioned an estate agent and that afternoon the owner was at our home. The following day the floor plan was completed and a day later were the photographs. Luckily I was able to do these myself but for a small extra charge we could have instructed the EPC assessor to do these too on the same day he initially visited. Our house went on the market on a Saturday and by the Monday we had two viewings booked in - in which time I still had not had a reply from Harpers! We had provisionally instructed Harpers to take on the sale of the house and we just wanted to clarify some matters before handing over the contract. Surely, responding and having the contract signed asap is in your interest?

Mrs Cherill, thank you for your review. Harpers & Co strives for excellence and offers a personal service different to other agents. In your case, you had not formally instructed us and asked a number of questions which I responded to in a timely manner regarding costs and flexible terms which we were discussing. I note you have instructed another agent, out of the area offering lower fees, and that your property continues to be advertised. Harpers & Co wishes you the best of luck going forward and thanks you for your review. Director J. Kypri

I called a number of times with regard to a property they had for sale, despite leaving 3 messages nobody even bothered calling me back.
