After having a nightmare experience with a previous estate agent (who I'll choose not to name) when we bought our first house, I was extremely sceptical about having to deal with an estate agent this time round. Thankfully Barons completely changed my opinion for the better- and how. We wanted to sell our house and upgrade to a bigger place for our family, and I contacted Barons on the recommendation of a friend. We managed to get an appointment to value the house almost straightaway, and the next day Kevin came over and introduced himself and answered our queries, as well as explaining the process and how they worked. My wife and I were instantly impressed with Kevin's natural and honest personality and his directness. We were told straightaway what the house was realistically worth, and how soon we could expect it to be sold. There was no complicated jargon, no false promises, and no front - what you see is what you get. Kevin was brilliant at getting straight to the point and explaining things in layman's terms, with no exaggerations or sugar coating. We also discussed what we wanted from our next house, and Kevin showed us some that Barons had that he thought matched our criteria. Again, there was no extended sales pitch or houses being forced on us that we didn't want - we were given the options that fitted our criteria exactly. We knew immediately after that first visit that we wanted to go with Barons, and am I glad we did - our house was sold STC within four days, for the price we were told we would get for it. We then went and viewed a house we liked the look of, and had an appointment almost instantly. We put an offer in that was accepted, and we are now living in that very house. Throughout the whole process Kevin and the other Barons staff were nothing short of top quality both in terms of their professionalism and their dedication to working as hard as they possibly could for us. They genuinely cared about our progress and wanted what was best for us. We hardly had to deal with anything as Barons did all the work for us, there was none of the usual stress involved in buying and selling a house. We were updated with information when necessary, and were never hassled with constant and pointless phone calls, unlike some estate agents! I never once had to chase them up for information, not something you can say often under these circumstances! In addition I was impressed with the warm and friendly vibe Kevin and all his staff gave off, and the personal touch they provided. As well as being serious when needed, we also had several relaxed and informal chats with them, and a good few laughs as well! Finally, on top of all this, their prices were unbelievably good value for money when you consider the service you get from them. There were no complicated charges, no hidden fees - just straightforward fixed prices. If you want complicated jargon, false promises, sales calls and unnecessary hassle, then go with a certain estate agent in the town centre. If you want honesty, five star service, a stress free purchase/sale and a company that works it's hardest for you and with your best interests at heart- go with Barons.
