Primarily, as a result of this and the service we have always received from Northwood Aberdeen we have renewed the Guaranteed Rent Agreement for another year (despite the income being significantly reduced).

It had never occurred to me that I was in a negotiating position with my landlord - I had just been so happy to have a great house in a superb location I had paid only a bit less than the asking price. However, with Laura's many years of experience she was able to advise me on the correct wording to write to the landlord to ask for a reasonable decrease on the rent for my rental extension, to reflect current market conditions and my willingness to rent long term. As a prospective, first-time landlord we received excellent advice from Northwood on the Aberdeen rental market whilst searching for a property. They gave straightforward and honest information on the on pros and cons of different areas and property types, as well as the potential for returns.

Very pleased with the service I received from Northwood. I chose the Guaranteed Rent Scheme. A tenant was found very quickly and the move in went effortlessly. Such a relief that Northwood will be managing the property for the next 12 months and I will receive regular monthly payments. Alicja has been very pleasant, polite and professional to deal with, and the descriptions and backgrounds of the potential tenants we received were thorough and very much appreciated to help us select the best tenant. We also appreciated that 'all boxes were ticked' to ensure that the tenancy was secure and legal in every respect. Based on these factors, we would have assigned a 5 star rating. However, it took quite a lot longer to get the property on the market than we would have hoped and would suggest that Northwood could be more proactive in 'chasing' any outstanding paperwork, some of which we'd submitted and had gone astray.
