Do not rent or buy a property through Whitegates.I rented a property from them and when I moved in the house was dirty and there were even dead flys on the window sill.When I complained I was told that we did not request the property to be cleaned before moving in! Furthermore we were left without hot water for 4 weeks,as the boiler broke down.The boiler had previosly broken down and the engineer suggested the parts to fix the problem but Whitegates refused to pay for the parts and just got the enginner to clean the boiler instead. When the boiler broke down for a second time I made Whitegates aware there was no hot water and I was told that the landlord did not have the money to carry out repairs! as the boiler powered the shower not only did I not have any heating I could not get washed in hotwater for nearly a month. Also we were left without a valid gas safe certificate for over 5 weeks.When I asked why the gas safe was allowed to expire I was told by the branch manager that there was a grace period allowed in the legislation,which was false.When I advised there was no grace period I was told more false information and then was later advised by the branch manager that they were not aware of the legislation ,so why tell me previously there was a grace period if they did not know what the legislation was! when pulled up on key points the branch manager would not answer certain points or completley refuse to answer questions. I would not use Whitegates again as I feel I was purposley told false information or I was told false information because they had not kept up to date with current legislation,either way I would have no confidence in them that they know what they are doing. I fear that Whitegates are only concerned in taking your money and they don't care about customer service or putting the customers interests at heart. I have given one star as there was 1 member of staff that was helpful but definetley not the branch manager who lacked any compassion in my opinion and was unwilling to sort any issues out.
