Working with Ellyshia to purchase a property was not a good experience. I first viewed the property and fell in love with it, I keenly told Ellyshia I would consider my offer and let her know the next day after viewing it. By the time I rang her after work, she had told the sellers to accept a rental offer instead of selling. Despite me saying I wanted to make an offer, the property was gone. 6 months later it returned to market, I would have thought Ellyshia would give me a call or an email just to check if I was still searching, since she knew I wanted to make an offer on it previously, but I had nothing. Luckily I discovered the property again online, and keenly called Curchods to get my offer in. I spoke with Mark who was great, but it was the end of the day so he was going to get Ellyshia to call me in the morning. I never got that call. I called Curchods 3 times that day, and never heard from Ellyshia. On the 3rd call Mark spoke with me, and he put my offer forward to the sellers. A few quick calls later, I had offer accepted! Hooray! Mark got it done! Thanks Mark! Unfortunately, going forward I was dealing with Ellyshia again. We often had games of cat and mouse trying to catch eachother at the right time to speak, she was not available, I was not available, whatever. Every single call from Ellyshia would start the same “Hi I hope you’re wellll” and I will have that phrase burnt into my mind until the end of time. I wish her greeting would change once in a while. It never did. Anyway, I was told the tenant would leave the property in 6 weeks after I got offer accepted, which was fine. Unfortunately, Ellyshia must have kept telling the sellers that the right thing to do was to extend the tenancy because it happened multiple times. Early March turned to late April before the tenant was out. Every time I asked when they were leaving, I got a later date. Despite me waiting several months for the sellers to get rid of their tenant so we could finalise the purchase, when I was waiting for the lender I got no patience from Ellyshia. Every day she rang me and emailed me. Every day I would hear “Hiiii I hope you’re welllll” in her fake friendly greeting voice. Update? Can I have an update? Despite being told I would update her when I have an update. Where was this pestering “lets get this done” attitude in the months prior when I wanted to get into the flat? I was patient with the sellers because I wanted the flat, but there was no patience reciprocated at the end. Even asking Ellyshia for basic information, it took days to get answers. Ellyshia told me the flat had been professionally cleaned, but I’ve spent the past 2 evenings in the flat doing nothing but clean. Anyway, I am happy with my flat, but the buying experience and dealing with Ellyshia was not good, then again everyone else I briefly dealt with at Curchods was lovely and helpful. Thank you Mark for getting my offer accepted so swiftly. It was a shame your swift and effective pace was not kept up in the process by your colleague.
PUSHY agent, Using aggressive tactics to persuade buyers to make offers well beyond the asking price, whilst dodging important questions about the property. We asked them to find out certain things about the property from the vendor and they never called back - says it all. Makes us wonder about the state of the properties they choose. Who knows, we clearly will never find out because they don't call back. Unprofessional service and they only pursue buyers they THINK have money, so makes us wonder if they do pass on all offers? Curchods to explain themselves. No doubt they'll respond below with 'you are not on our system' excuses excuses.
Called Curchods Woking as they had a property for sale. They told me the property had sold and I left my details with them if something similar came back up. 2 weeks later the same property i queried about was back on the market and i was not informed. I would not use them again just for this reason, and i recall they were more interested in if i had a house to sell to purchase the house i queried about, as i said i was in no chain i believe that's why contact was not made. Terrible!! Be aware
Hate is too strong a word. The web site was too much effort to navigate around. One star awarded not because I hate but for trying.
Had an interaction with Scott Carson and Alkesh Majevadia at the Kingston Branch of Curchods and was disgusted that they are using COVID -19 as a basis to obtain confidential information and screen buyers. They insisted that they were acting in the interest of the Vendors and refused to arrange an appointment to view 29 Avenue Road KT 1 unless I provide details of the deposit amount I would be putting down and mortgage provider. When informed that insisting a person provide such Confidential Information to make an appointment was potentially a breach of the GDPR Regulations they went on to try and justify their actions by saying that it was for safety reasons! People have died from this Pandemic and key workers have put their lives at risk daily to save people regardless of their economic status! COVID 19 is not a screening opportunity for estate agents nor is it a money making opportunity! Nobody would put themselves in a position to ask for an appointment to view a property at these trying times if they were not serious buyers. Further if anyone came to view a property they are in just as much risk as the next person and a first viewing does not translate into an immediate offer! So the reasons that you are seeking this information from buyers is potentially unlawful and a breach of their privacy but more importantly is disgusting and self serving, Next time you turn up for an appointment at the doctors perhaps they should request your financial capability/status to pay for medical assistance before treating you - just to keep doctors safe and to make sure you are not wasting their time given the pressures of COVID 19!
I was looking to rent a house in either Walton-on-thames or Weybridge area and sent them two enquiries about two properties, plus I called them twice and they said they will get back to me but never did. What a shame Danny and Lewis from Walton-on-Thames agency.
Nothing, we had the rudest most obnoxious estate agent show us (I say show us but he stood down stairs huffing and puffing because we were 10min late, with all the temp traffic lights and road closures) told us he had 6min... 6min to show us a £800,000 house, even though we were massively interested we wouldn’t deal with this company again lol absolute joke.
