Seymours of Walton did a good job for us. In particular, Clare was amazing. The agent who sells the property usually gets all the glory but in reality it’s the person who nurses it through the conveyancing processes that deserves it. Many thanks Clare 🙏

In my experience, this agency is not trustworthy. I had arranged a property viewing with them and travelled all the way from Manchester. The appointment was confirmed with me the day before, and my viewing was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. the following morning. Shortly after I arrived, one of their staff members called and asking where I was. I explained that I was standing outside the property at the confirmed address. I was then told that I was at the wrong location because the property had already received an offer and that I should instead go to a different address. The most frustrating part was that the agency had apparently changed the viewing address without informing me.. I only found out that the address had changed after I had already travelled from Manchester and arrived at the original location. This level of disorganisation and poor communication is simply unacceptable. I had already invested significant time and money travelling to the viewing, only to discover that the arrangements had been changed without my knowledge. I would not recommend this agency, especially to people who are new to the UK or from immigrant backgrounds. Professionalism, transparency, and respect for prospective tenants should be the minimum standard, and unfortunately, that was not my expertise.

Be cautious when dealing with Seymours. Our offer was accepted at the asking price. However, after acceptance, we received several calls encouraging us to increase our offer because they believed the property could achieve a higher price. We felt uncomfortable being pressured to raise our offer after an agreement had already been reached. As a result, we decided to withdraw from the purchase. Others may have had different experiences, but I would advise prospective buyers to proceed with caution and ensure they are comfortable with any requests to increase their offer after it has been accepted. Had our original offer been honoured, we would have been happy to proceed with the purchase. To the best of my knowledge, the property has not sold since.

Do not use them. If you do, definitely do not accept their recommendation to use Woodford Stauffer Solicitors. They only recommend them because they receive commission (£500 in this case), despite knowing they are a poor firm. Woodford Stauffer held up our entire transaction when they were working on behalf of my buyer (who in this case was my dad). When I called Clare at Seymours to ask her to chase the solicitors to catch-up with the rest of the chain, she basically blamed them and said there's not a lot she can do when they don't answer her calls or emails. Not exactly a glowing reference for a firm she's recommended to highly to my dad... Clare also ignored subsequent calls and voicemails I made to her to chase through progress. Fortunately my vendor used a proper estate agent who did all the chasing himself. Clare was more of an obstruction to him than she was helpful. So my advice is to avoid both Seymours and Woodford Stauffer at all costs.

We had an extremely disappointing experience with Seymours Walton-on-Thames. They are great at the sales pitch, but once you’ve signed up, the original team disappears and you’re handed over to a sales progressor, with little to no communication from the people you first dealt with. Our house move fell through on the original agreed completion date, and when we decided to change agents, their behaviour was shocking. Instead of acting professionally, they became passive-aggressive and harassed us with 13 calls in just one afternoon, begging us not to leave them. Even worse, they told one of their clients that our sale had fallen through and encouraged them to make an offer on the very property we were already under offer on. This was a huge breach of trust and completely unacceptable. Their customer service was appalling from start to finish, and I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before using Seymours Walton-on-Thames.
