We have been buying a property through Corum properties in Troon, as first time buyers we had expected a this to be a stressful but overall worthwhile experience. The staff at Corum could not be more rigid and unhelpful if they tried, I have never experienced such poor customer service before. Throughout our purchase we were blatantly refused any access to the property, we were buying, to allow us to measure up for various furniture ad curtains etc. On asking for access our request were met with a out and out refusal with no explanation or reason given, they even refused to consult the seller, their own client to allow us access. On contacting our solicitor, mortagage company and various other estate agents for advice all were of the opinion that there is no legal reason nor any practical reason for them to refuse access other than to intentially be difficult. Our missives are now complete and we are now having to invoke clause 10 which allows us 2 visits to the property and still Corum are dragging their heels further delaying the process. This is a company I would now greatly avoid and actively not recommend, there has been more than one occasion we have felt like pulling out this sale due to their attitude. If you are considering selling your home I would not suggest Corum if you want a happy sale.
