Very poor service. I resent

Very poor service. I resent the fact that I paid this branch to make this let far more complex, time consuming and costly than had I self - managed the let. Having taken legal advice on their actions, I was advised that they had let me down very badly and that they were not providing me with the correct facts allowing me to access my property or get works done. They failed to pass on my correspondence to my tenants which caused massive problems, and one member of staff even told me that their primary concern was that the tenants were happy and I was of secondary importance. The whole let appeared to be run along the lines of what was the least hassle to John Shepherd. The cost to me of them taking this approach apoeared not to matter to them. I've only given them 2 stars rather than 1 as the branch head appeared to know his stuff ( unfortunately he delegated my let to others who were less capable ) and has offered to try to talk to me about all the mistakes they made. I do feel I should warn others about the service as it certainly fell way way short of what was promised.

I had a completely unprofessional experience with John Shepherd Estate & Letting Agents regarding a rental property in the Gravelly Hill area. On June 23rd, I submitted a viewing request through Rightmove for a flat where I fully met all the pre-qualification criteria mentioned in their listing, including income, move-in date, and tenant profile. Since I received no response, I went in person to their office on June 24th. They confirmed that my request was in their system and told me I would be contacted later that day to arrange a viewing. That call never came. I followed up again by email on June 25th, which was also ignored. Meanwhile, I tried calling multiple times during working hours, but their phone line appears to be permanently down. It always plays a message saying no one is available, with no way to leave a voicemail. This is not only unprofessional, it makes them completely unreachable. To make matters worse, the listing was marked as "out of market" on June 25th without any notice or explanation. I was never informed if the property was let, withdrawn, or if I was being considered at all. No courtesy email, no update, nothing. I made every effort to follow their process, I showed genuine interest, I visited their office, followed up in writing and by phone, and I met all their listed requirements. In return, I received complete silence and zero transparency. This is not just poor service – it is a total lack of respect for applicants. If you are a prospective tenant, I strongly advise caution when dealing with this branch. My experience showed a complete breakdown in professionalism, communication, and basic standards of letting practice.

Daniel G, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. We try to ensure all enquiries are dealt with within an acceptable timescale, and its sad to see yours wasn't dealt with efficiently. Some properties can create overwhelming responses from applicants meaning the team can't physically get to everyone. Our phone systems operate with a voicemail, did you press option 1 for lettings? Do email or pop in again and we can go through all our vacant and available listings with you.

Extremely poor service from the Mere Green Branch.. regarding maintenance issues of one of the rental properties they are supposed to be managing, lack of response to phone calls and even a personal visit from my partner... I would not recommend!

"I don't leave reviews..."

I don't leave reviews very often but John Shepherd West Bridgford deserve one. I am absolutely disgusted with this unregulated letting market, trying to remove deposit money for 2 small plastic cracks in a fridge freezer and saying they will need to replace both from our deposit money. Furthermore saying they will need to have it re-cleaned despite us paying £180 for two cleaners to spend 3 hours cleaning it professionally. Prior to this when we lived in the flat we had a low water pressure problem which took them over 4 months to fix, they came up with excuse after excuse before finally offering to fix it a few weeks before we moved out (only because we had to get the council involved to sort it). We then moved into another property with them where the oven had not been cleaned (see pictures attached) yet was told it was just cleaning residue. Also the dishwasher that did not work, we were originally told to try to fix it ourselves? Thirdly in our contract it makes reference to a washing machine, yet no washing machine was present and we had to spend hundreds to buy our own. I cannot believe what these agencies try to get away with, I highly doubt they would even replace the fridge and freezer for such a small crack and new tenants who will soon move in, they just want money money money! Disgusting.
