I have used Mansons for over 6 years to manage a property in Hexham in Northumberland. I have not been happy with their service on a few occasions which as resulted in errors which I have had to resolve myself
Terrible service. Tenants are treated in a way of harassment. The staff is rude, demanding and not following legal procedures in line with the Housing legislation, particular Ms Debbie Smith, who introduced herself as the department manager. During 5 months she has been asked to do repairs in relation to health and safety hazard, later on electrics and boiler and some other things, which were declined on the grounds it was unsafe for contractors to enter. She threatened to end the tenancy without following legal procedures and acted in a way to force tenant leave. Without clarification , she returned 2 months rent, claiming later that tenant was not paying and as per this the Landlord was not liable for their obligations under the tenancy. Recently she finally prebooked works to be done and required to move out for 5 days. The non refundable payment was made, but on the day the works supposed to start, they sent the information about the delay and requested to move out the following week, which could not be agreed due to financial loss and the reasons were explained. Ms Smith then turned to the property without prior notice and sent threatening emails demanding to leave. All the above, led to excessive stress with current medical treatment in place.
Moved in today. House is in a shocking state. Will change review if it improves. Got the keys yesterday and spent all day cleaning. Have emailed but no response.
Absolutely unprofessional agency, they re-arranged a viewing for a flat twice with the excuse they had to move the viewings day and that no one would view it until the last arrangement. They contacted the next day to cancel the viewing appointment as “the flat was rent by another agent”. Better stay away, unreliable and unprofessional.
Most unsupportive and unprofessional company I have ever encountered. Moved in to a house that was covered in mould and had to request the property be cleaned on numerous occasions only to receive a leaflet claiming the mould was down to condensation. When the mould was finally cleaned by a contractor the work done was cheap and shoddy and problems resurfaced almost immediately. Then when it came to moving out we were requested to have the house professionally cleaned, which we did and they came back saying the house was not cleaned to a professional standard supplying pictures they took of the mould and other issues we came to them with at the start of the tenancy. We were then charged out of our deposit for uncleanliness, even down to 1 grain of rice in a cupboard even though we had the whole house professionally cleaned. The deposit was only returned after constantly emailing and asking them for it 22 days after leaving the property. DO NOT USE THIS MONEY ROBBING COMPANY.
Please look at the other 1 star reviews before renting a property with these people as I just looked at the overall rating and over looked them!. If my review can help deter at least one person and prevent them being in a situation like mine it will be worth my time writing this review. The property wasn’t in great condition and was dirty on arrival however I was told I could leave it in the same state on exit so I hope they stick to there word on that. I rented the property in September which got damaged by a storm in November, it’s now nearly March and there is no date in site for repair as there is no electricity and a missing bathroom ceiling. I have been in air b n b’s, hotels and even now emergency housing for weeks on end digging deeply into my own pocket because the landlord will not rehouse me or provide any compensation they basically just said I don’t have to pay rent but that’s it. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to find anything short term for less than £300 per week and that is bare minimum it’s more like £500 per week (my rent is £650pm) . There communication is poor, I find every member of staff in there property management team extremely rude and I still don’t have a glimpse of light at the end of this very long stressful tunnel. No customer service and no tenant protection whatsoever it’s by far been the worst experience of my life dealing with this company.

Very very rude and unprofessional. Do not waste your time speaking to them do not care about your needs. arrogant is an understatement
