Useless cowboys. Cost my parents thousands when they got their house back from the awful tenants they filled it with. Avoid at all costs.

Booked a valuation online, recieved an email confirming the valuation. Nobody turned up, i called and apparently the online booking tool doesnt even connect to the Whitegates diary so they knew nothing about it and couldnt send anyone else out on the day which we needed. Didnt fill me with confidence for them to sell my property, would the potential viewing enquiries go through to Whitegates....

Tenants beware.Where to begin with Whitegates, specifically the branch in Beeston Nottingham, and the property in question is 195 Lower Reagent Street, Beeston, Nottingham.Myself and my partner moved into what originally looked like a decent property for the price and on the first day we were left with no electricity and a bad gas leak that I had to call an emergency engineer to come out and fix. When it was finally safe and possible to turn the electric on the problems began to show in the cold light of day. The first issue was the strange smell that I didn't notice when I viewed the place as they had cleverly left the windows open. I tracked the smell to several places in the house, primarily in the kitchen units where I found rat traps in the cupboards and draws with dead rodents, all in all across the house I found 15 dead rats and mice that day. It is very clear that they were aware of these issues as the floor and units have obvious gnawing marks The next issue was when I went to use one of the "beds" thatI tested by gently sitting on, as soon as I moved the clearly defective bedframe snapped in half gashing my arm open. The next major issue that arose was that me and my partner started becoming poorly on a regular basis, I tracked the issue down to the hot water which when ran exclusively had an off colour and smell (Brown and musty smell). Now to report this issue they make you use a poorly built website that sends you a canned response. By this point we had no hot water due to the quality and non existent pressure and it took them nearly a week just to get back to us and then another full week to send an engineer round. The engineer drained the system for 4 full hours and a large brown trail of sludge was left all over the back garden along with the piping used and the fibre glass shielding used for the boiler dumped in my garden. The general state of the house was very poor, crumbling walls, defective unit and beds, massively overgrown front and back garden from day one. When it came to the end of the contract (or near to it) my partner decided to split and move out leaving me with 18 days notice. This unfortunately forced me into using whitegates a second time in a new property.I am still currently trying to claim back the difference between the deposit (around £200) three weeks on. They promised to inspect the house and provide a report on the Monday I handed the keys in, I had to physically go into the office on repeated occasions just to get any kind of response from them. When I finally got back a half arsed report from the guy dealing with the property (who had conveniently gone on holiday and was no longer contactable for the next few days) I was simply told the garden needed weeding and the kitchen was "dirty". I promised to go and clean these things even though they were in a better state than when I moved in and said that the washer dryer that I had purchased could be kept to compensate for any additional issues. Now the kitchen as you may previously remember was infested with rats when I moved in, every cupboard and draw was filled with dirt, rodent droppings and old rusty pots so I certainly left it in a better state than when I got the property. The garden and front concrete area when I moved in was a jungle of weeds, brambles, nettles and small trees sprouting from the tree next door and it was roughly hip height. I weeded both the front and back to what I would consider an acceptable state (it still had weeds but no bigger than a few inches and far less dense). Now at this point I have been back again twice to do additional cleaning and weeding to meet the impossible standards they are using to clearly and obviously make a quick buck.As it is now 3 weeks in and they are still delaying me in every way possible I have been without food for 7 days (they are aware of this as I have been into the office on a semi daily basis chasing the issue up). They keep promising to get back to me and I don't hear anything so it is looking like I will be required to file a legal case as a family member has kindly taken up the case free of charge and has a legal case with pictures and documentation included ready to go as soon as I give the word.In the new property all my clothes have got stuck in the old washer provided as the release mechanism is defective. You are talking 13+ limited edition gig t-shirts costing upwards to £25 and one being as old as a 1984 Iron maiden shirt. I am currently hoping they do not take 2 weeks to action a fix as by that point basically half my wardrobe will have sat in the damp drum rotting and will need throwing away. All in all a terrible experience, if I could give a 0 star rating I would!

Complete lack of care for tennants, complain about broblems and they ignore you untill last second. My advice would be to go to burchill edwards where the staff are friendly and help as much as they can.
