Buying & Selling houses is one of the most stressful activities of the modern times; and it can feel like it is a trial by combat where only the 'Street Fighter' can win when others are boxing to the 'Marquis of Queensbury' rules. My recent attempt at buying left me seriously out of pocket when the 'Seller' having accepted my offer, through Thomas Morris, decided to pull out - the day after I had the property surveyed !!! 'Legally' the seller can do this !!! But Thomas Morris upheld my side of the process by successfully representing my 'moral argument' that a verbal contract had been breached and that the 'Seller' should make a compensatory payment to offset my costs. Although the 'compensatory payment was some way short of my outlay it has helped restore my faith in human morality and that there is still room for 'Doing the right thing' in the English 'dog-eat-dog' Housing Market world. A 'BIG THANK YOU' to Thomas Morris and I can say that it has been a pleasure dealing with all at the Huntingdon Office.
