When we moved in to our flat with Belvoir (four years ago) the team were really friendly, efficient and proactive in dealing with any problems. Since then their standards have slipped, and although they have maintained their friendliness and enthusiasm, it has started taking considerably longer to deal with maintainence issues (we've been waiting over a year for a repair job). Despite this, we would still recommended Belvoir to others and would use them again.
What can I say but levels of bad customer service. The landlady used for our property was rude and didn't have good customer service or professionalism. They charged us unreasonable amounts for cleaning even though it wasn't very clean when we got the property originally. No actual contact with the landlady. I had to go through other people before getting an answer. They complained about damp marks on the walls but no offer to help with supplying us with a dehumidifier or support. Left us to suffer and was very happy to blame us for the maintenance issue. Some staff at belvoir were very rude and not consistent holding those high standards. The reason why we moved was due to the landlady's response to an out of the blue letter received saying the landlady is reprocessing the property due to personal reasons. We organise an alternative in which the landlady then changes her mind suddenly tried to offer the property for more money than it's worth. Our parking space was illegally rented out without our permission. It was a horrible experience. I highly recommend going somewhere else for a property. We are so glad we moved and my mental health has got better since getting out of the property. Good riddance Belvoir!
I cant say much on the properties Belvoir manages by themselves, but has a very bad experience on a house rented thru Belvoir, but was landlady managing it them self. All was fixed and the flat was painted to meet what she asked , and professionally cleaned ( though she didn't do it while giving it to us ) -- but unreasonable amounts were held on the deposit. I had to put the reasons and agreed to pay a portion , but she stopped responding to mails and is not actioning on the depositprotection website. Its been an year after i moved out, but still the amount is not settled. Few more points to all looking to rent thru Belovoir, but was LandLord maintained. There was enormous delay in fixing any of the issues as land lady was not ready to spend a penny . the Water heater issue took almost 2 months to fix. There were instances where Landlady was not available for 2+ weeks and all issues had to wait till she comes back . Please be very careful on similar cases.NegativeValue
They try cut the deposit ,when you get property take the pic every where and keep itPositiveProfessionalism
I will keep this short - as a tenant I have had way better experiences over my 8 years renting. This company will try and offset landlords maintenance costs on to you. My recommendation is record everything from start to finish if you want to see a penny of your deposit. I.e pictures, always email and make sure you dont leave a watermark you'll be charge 100s pounds of your hard earned cash for 'light cleaning' - there words. Tenants who use them. Please read your agreement. Management was lacking from start we had to sort out the issues we encountered.
So belvoir were happy to leave me and my partner without hot water for a week. Flats were all mouldy. Customer service was terrible. Especially Chris. Grace was extremely cocky. Used landlord as an excuse to kick us out then tried charging for anything possible when no damage to flat. They made us come back after we moved and cleaned the flat immaculately to wipe a tiny speck of dust in the bathroom as they would have got someone 'professional' in and the billed us for it. Would highly recommend staying well clear of belvoir Haywards heath.
I would never use an Agency again if I can help it after using Belvoir Haywards Heath, particularly my experience on the lead up to and post check out. This is a shame after enjoying a pretty good service at the start of the tenancy and makes me genuinely feel sorry for people that have no choice but to rent through agencies like this. Fictitious claims added to deposit deduction requests weeks after I'd checked out that weren't listed on the formal check out report. These escalated and became more capricious and childish as time went on, until they were finally quashed at adjudication. If you do have to use them be very wary and ensure correspondence are recorded on email. Also be aware there are no break clauses in their contracts, and you do not have to renew despite the pushiness of the branch to, incurring more of their charges. Also leave their properties immaculate with evidence for all work as there was no acceptance of wear and tear, nor from the adjudicators (despite guidelines) as Belvoir specify this is the contract; they even claimed for watermarks on the bathroom ceiling fan. Be careful.
