Have just purchased our first house that was listed by Hollbrook & Co, Hartlepool branch. Terrible experience, I could go on & on but probably better just steering clear from them to be honest. No matter how much you love the house, save yourself the 6 months of stress. Crucial details: house was not listed as having a service rent charge (fleecehold), was only after an offer was put in & accepted that our solicitor made enquiries which lead to us finding out about it. Should of backed out at that point really… but we had our hearts set on the house by then. Couldn’t get in touch with Hollbrook all week on completion week. 20+ phonecalls, 0 answer. Had to ring our solicitor & get contact details for the seller to give us the keys directly. The poor sellers had the same rubbish communication from Hollbrook & their solicitor & had no clue they where meant to be out by 2pm. Leading to a stressfull day for them & us not getting the keys until about 5:30pm. So we ended up having to move in the following day. God knows what we would of done if we’d all had been in a chain.. Luckily we didn’t due to renting. We where first time buyers and the sellers first time sellers, so both had no idea what the “norm” is but I can’t believe your even allowed to operate like this & continue trading tbh..
Clunky
Used to be a good but now is very bad service
Messed us around, was not honest with us, not transparent whatsoever. Be careful.
I was very happy with signable, staff also friendly and helpful, however i had an issue with fields disappearing when received (potentially serious) apparently it is necessary to flatten the PDF before sending … i changed to Docusign and have had no issues so far
Fortunately I had very bad experience with Curchods team Specifically was Mr Garry he hurt my feeling as choosing customer as nationality and as Person!!!! unfortunately I called them to ask about the date an times requested by online and one of them said he will send to my email but unfortunately he didn't send me after that I decided to go myself to the office to see what issues and I meet Mr Gary and he tell me something wrong with my email !!!!and give hem my email again and he said yes you have appointment today at 4:30pm I will send you email , but unfortunately he one more time ignored me and he didn't send anything to me without any reason. Maybe he don't want The foreign people in his office !! this point. It is very negative for me. I am also like any person who respects and loves this country and holds like him British nationality and I'm very proud because I have that but I'm very disappointed how did things come to insulting people in real estate offices? !!! I do not recommend anyone
Avoid if possible! Despite having agreements for sale, mortgage lined up and solicitors instructed, Curchods continued to pursue other buyers for weeks. Completely untrustworthy.
We contacted them about valuing our home with a view to selling it and no one ever responded.
Had an interaction with Scott Carson and Alkesh Majevadia at the Kingston Branch of Curchods and was disgusted that they are using COVID -19 as a basis to obtain confidential information and screen buyers. They insisted that they were acting in the interest of the Vendors and refused to arrange an appointment to view 29 Avenue Road KT 1 unless I provide details of the deposit amount I would be putting down and mortgage provider. When informed that insisting a person provide such Confidential Information to make an appointment was potentially a breach of the GDPR Regulations they went on to try and justify their actions by saying that it was for safety reasons! People have died from this Pandemic and key workers have put their lives at risk daily to save people regardless of their economic status! COVID 19 is not a screening opportunity for estate agents nor is it a money making opportunity! Nobody would put themselves in a position to ask for an appointment to view a property at these trying times if they were not serious buyers. Further if anyone came to view a property they are in just as much risk as the next person and a first viewing does not translate into an immediate offer! So the reasons that you are seeking this information from buyers is potentially unlawful and a breach of their privacy but more importantly is disgusting and self serving, Next time you turn up for an appointment at the doctors perhaps they should request your financial capability/status to pay for medical assistance before treating you - just to keep doctors safe and to make sure you are not wasting their time given the pressures of COVID 19!
