Toby Miller (Curchods Guildford) was very helpful in making this transaction go through smoothly, his recommendation on a conveyancer was spot on and the relationship was really effective. Curchods were focussed and helpful throughout, good communication and an easy transaction, recommended.
I initially gave them one star as my husband and myself had not very pleasant experience with a couple of agents in their Kingston office (still left my initial comment at the end). However, they tried to make it right after we made an official complain to the director and our landlord. So I thought they deserve to get reviewed again after all the hard works they've made to resolve our problems. Michael, their Group Managing Director, is very genuine and trustworthy. He visited our place to investigate the issues all by himself and logged everything in details then he put all in action straight away. We were appointed with 2 new agents to look after our issues and they were very helpful and fairly fast in responses. It still took a couple of months to get most of things sorted but that was just because of the bookings with technicians. They were great with follow-ups and fast responses through out the whole process and we are very happy with our place now. I want to say special thanks to Michael for being very kind, genuine and supportive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Initial review:Utterly disappointed with their service. They don't even deserve one star. The worst agent we've ever dealt with. Recently rented a flat through this agent in Kingston area but had to chase them up for over 2 months for a few issues as soon as we moved in but no one seems to care once they got the money. And there is no such contact/email details for official complain whatsoever on their website or anywhere. How sneaky. Hundreds of calls and emails. Lies after lies then no response. This is totally mis-selling. Maintenance promises on their contract is purely just a lie. Don't trust this agent. Avoid if you don't want to get tons of stress and ruin your new life plan.
All was going well until I allowed connection to my bank. I then found out that the system would not allow me to rescind this authority. The reason I was rescinding this link was because the bank advised that I should not use it if I did online banking. One thing that would help in using this software would be a short description of the information that would be requested (before you start using the portal) and the different forms that are an acceptable way to give this information. (i.e The information that will be requested falls into 4 main areas.......You will be asked for .......... you can authorise to use a direct connection online to bank but you dont need to do this.....you can provide bank statements instead. I still do not know if I needed to provide statements of all accounts with funds to make purchase? because it would only let me upload one. We use this information to.........
Bank linking failed due to malformed URL. Clearly a product that has not been through stringent testing and relies on developers who can barely connect lego bricks together. Support was non-existent as the error I encounter clearly does not exist in their support FAQ with no way to actually communicate with a human. Support email replies from a human I assume although the English used clearly indicates someone that does not use it as their primary language. Either a bad day at google translate or someone that is not fit for the role on front line communication. Ultimately, would you trust an 'app' with all your financial and person details that has clearly never been tested thoroughly and lacks technical support when required? I do not!
We used James Winn to purchase a property and the service was generally quite poor. Communication is very weak, and despite several calls, call backs to answer any queries were very infrequent. The team seemed very unorganised with little handover. The sales negotiator only worked part time, which does not work when purchasing a house when questions can crop up at any time, especially if handover is lacking. The day we were completing communication with us was very poor. Leaving us confused as to what was going on, and when to pick the keys up. Very little support, and no one actually checked to see if we received the keys after getting them from the vendor. I have not heard from James Winn since. Unfortunately I will not be recommending James Winn to any friends, colleagues or family due to the poor service.
Agent didn’t turn up to do valuation and left me outside in 30 degree heat - they hadn’t booked in anyone after spending 15-20 minutes in phone with them talking about the property
I wouldn’t have them sell a second hand fridge after the awful experience I have had with them
Warning to other buyers Last weekend we travelled more than 5 hours to view a property advertised by this agency, believing we were about to see our future home. On arrival, we were informed that the property could not be viewed because the seller could not secure the property. Later, we were told that the owner had changed the locks without the agency’s knowledge. Unfortunately, we were not informed about this in advance, which made our journey completely unnecessary. After this, the agent told us that she would send a video viewing of the property, however no video was ever sent, nor did we receive any further update or explanation. We found another property advertised by the same agency at a similar price, which could have at least been shown to us via video viewing. Communication overall was very poor. I tried to contact the agent by phone, but my calls were not answered, despite the situation. I believe that after such an inconvenience, a proper conversation would have been the minimum courtesy. This experience was extremely disappointing and emotionally exhausting for us. We have since continued our search with other sellers. I am sharing this to warn future buyers to be cautious, so they do not experience the same situation we did.
