After a slightly slow start, Ashtons people were always helpful and efficient. Their marketing was excellent (lovely drone pictures). Communications between buyer, solicitors and ourselves were good.

A good experience when it comes to communication with Joanne and Emma. They were always helpful and replying to my questions swiftly, however the purchase itself took a very long time, which I wasn’t aware of at the beginning. When my offer got accepted, i was asked if I am willing to wait a few months till the seller finds the accommodation, which i agreed, however, I ended up waiting 9 months for the purchase to complete.

Very friendly and professional local estate agents. Always answered my questions and were available when I called either the Culcheth or Padgate offices.

Lovely staff and secured me a buyer very quickly. My only gripe was when quoted it wasn't explained it's + vat which I found frustrating and that's only reason I haven't given 5 star's.

I rung to enquire about a house with an agricultural building. I requested the sizes of said building and whether or not the property had 3 phase. Clearly demonstrating the fact that the outbuilding was required for a business - or so you would think. This information was not available on the listing. Had it have been on I would not have needed to call. 4 days later and still no information so I called back. I explained I did not need to view the property at this point. I was only requesting the information above as this would determine whether or not the property was suitable for our needs. (Again fairly obvious for a property of this nature). Joanne said at one point that I was a time waster that liked a galavant on the weekends nosying round people's homes. (I only wish I had time to waste) Again I explained we needed a property with very specific needs and therefore needed the questions answering and had the listing had the above information I would not have needed to call. All I required was the dimensions to decide whether or not the property would be suitable for our business. At this point she then said they didn't believe the council would allow a "Full-Blown" business to go into the building. The irony that I'm the time waster yet again this information was not on the listing. She also stated that if my house wasn't on the market I wouldn't have the funds/time to buy this property - as though she A) knows my situation or bank balance. B) that chains don't exist and sometimes fall through Her attitude then changed when I explained we didn't feel the building was actually big enough for our needs and we were looking for something larger. She was then shouting out random emails to me, to see if I was on the system. (Very data protection conscious) They'd actually never bothered to get my email. Bravo! What a way to get customers, insult them and then try and get their information for the future. To the owner - Yes, I felt the need to write this. Yes, I do feel your practises, policies, training and procedures require looking at. Yes, you could still follow the client's instructions and believe it or not answer my basic questions. No, all the information wasn't available on the listing or I wouldn't have needed to call. No, I do not feel the need to reach out to you regarding this any further Yes clearly there's an issue, you only need to read the other 1 star reviews they all echo the same issues.

Hi Rebecca, Firstly, we are naturally disappointed to see you gave us a 1-star review, and equally disappointed you didn’t approach us directly before going to Google to air your concerns. I have taken the time to listen to your calls with Joanne and Will. You asked about the property and the barn size, as you wanted to see if it would fit your business in. Joanne quickly told you that there had been an offer on the property already and wanted to figure out your buying position before proceeding in detail. If you weren't in a position to offer, it would be unlikely to waste your time considering it and it’s size – as we were negotiating an offer at this point. She did not at any point ask about your bank balance. She asked you about your buying position. The owner had asked us to qualify everyone. You seemed unable to give us a straight answer on your position on your call on the 13th. Finally telling us after asking several times. That said, having listened to your first call with Will on the 10th of February your position changed from having a property to sell, to not needing to sell on the call with Joanne on the 13th. We explained that we don’t have the dimensions (this is due to us only adding dimensions to floorplans for habitable spaces). Although, I understand your need for measurements wouldn’t be for dwelling, but for your business. Joanne told you that the owner had already enquired about changing the barn’s use to commercial, but this was refused. I can confirm that Joanne did not say at any point that you are a ‘timewaster galivanting around people’s houses’… there wasn’t anything close said in the call. I’m unsure why you would comment this? I can confirm that Joanne did not read out anyone’s full email address on the call. No GDPR breaches. Joanne asked for your email, suggesting that we might already have it… and you then confirmed in the final 10 seconds of the call that it wouldn’t be big enough for you and didn’t pass it to us. You mentioned ‘3 phase’ in both your calls. But in no relation to what ‘3 phase’ actually is. I appreciate you and I know, but our team sell residential property and asking about ‘3 phase’ without any context wouldn’t be an indicator to us of what your intention is. I can confirm it was 3 days between your enquiries, not 4 as quoted. The delay in replying is that we hadn’t been given the dimensions for the barn from the owner yet. At every stage during the chat, Joanne was friendly and polite. I appreciate the frustration in the delay in us getting the information you needed which I can only assume this added to your misunderstandings on the 2nd call. I apologise that we didn't come back to you sooner explaining we didn't have the measurements yet. I have spoken to the team and reiterated the need to return calls, even when there is no additional information to share. If you would like the calls, please email me at: hello@ashtons.net and I'll happily send them over for you to review your complaint. Thanks Kristian
