AVOID AT ALL COSTS, currently trying to hold us to an additional year despite previously giving them notice. They say auto renewal has happened as my most recent correspondence was 5 days past a three month notice period (again notice has been served previously 12 months ago.) They are also double the price of the competitor we are moving too as an estate agency
I've sold with these and, honestly, I wouldn't recommend them NOT AT ALL. They're brilliant if you're buying from them, but if you're selling, they'll just call you, rip you off, and give you false information. They'll slip something into the contract that you haven't actually read, so you have to be absolutely careful. Make sure you read every single detail because they say one thing and then do something totally opposite. I spoke to the branch manager again today (LEE) and, as expected, he just defended his staff. I've been totally conned, 100%, and there's nothing I can do about it. Would not recommend dealing with them at all.
Highly unprofessional and unreliable. I was planning to use this agency for my rental property, but their complete lack of competence and poor work ethic resulted in a significant financial impact on me. Even though I was a prospective client trusting their professional reputation, they showed zero accountability. I will absolutely never use this agency in the future.
As a mother, I am deeply disappointed with Grey & Co. My baby daughter is only six months old, and we urgently needed a safe place to live. Instead of helping us during such an important and stressful time, they completely wasted our time with false promises and excuses. They showed us several properties and kept saying things like “yes, this should be fine” and gave us hope that we would get the house. Because of this, we waited for days believing everything was moving forward. Then suddenly they came back saying the landlord rejected us or that we were not eligible. It is extremely upsetting to go through this while caring for a six-month-old baby and trying to find a stable home quickly. They showed no urgency, no honesty, and no respect for our situation. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would never recommend Grey & Co to anyone, especially families in urgent need of housing. They need to shut the businesses that’s all they can do !
Very frustrating and disappointing experience with Grey & Co. They kept showing me different properties and repeatedly told me I had a strong chance of getting the house. They made it sound almost confirmed, so I stopped looking at other options and waited for their response. After wasting several days, they suddenly changed their story and started giving excuses, saying the landlord decided I was not eligible. This happened again and again. Their communication is poor, they give false expectations, and they clearly don’t value people’s time or situation. I would not trust this company again. If you want honest and professional service, avoid Grey & Co.
Absolutely terrible experience with Grey & Co. They wasted my time for days showing me 2 different houses, constantly saying “yes yes, you’ll get this house” and giving false hope. After waiting 3–4 days every time, they suddenly came back with excuses saying the landlord rejected me or that I’m “not eligible.” Completely unprofessional and dishonest service. Instead of being honest from the beginning, they kept dragging things on and making promises they clearly couldn’t keep. It feels like they don’t respect people’s time at all. Very disappointing experience, poor communication, and zero transparency. I would never recommend Grey & Co to anyone looking for a reliable estate agent. They don’t deserve even 0 star
We have reviewed feedback from other customers who have encountered similar difficulties with these three-year agreements. It was our clear understanding that we could terminate the contract after 12 months by providing three months’ notice. We served notice after first discussing the matter with your office three months in advance. Despite this, we now find ourselves required to resolve the dispute through the courts.
I booked a viewing for a property and took time off work specifically to attend. I received confirmation emails and text messages confirming the date and time of the appointment. I arrived at the property as scheduled and waited approximately 15–20 minutes. When no one arrived, I attempted to contact the office by phone but received no answer. I then sent an email and was informed that the property had already been sold and that no one would be attending the viewing. I was also advised that someone should have contacted me to inform me of this, which unfortunately did not happen. This situation was extremely frustrating and inconvenient, particularly as I had taken time off work based on the confirmed appointment.
Made a booking to view this house , had 1 SMS text to confirm on the day we made the call and then a call an hour before to make sure we are still coming . Travelled 45 minutes to get to the house viewing … to find nobody was there , house was empty . Called the store 15 minutes after as they might of been late to be told “oh your viewer Carl had gone AWOL and not answering his phone so we will have to cancel you viewing and we’re not sure when we can fit you in next” devastated to face this as a first time buyer - has left a sour taste in my mouth as to be called confirming our viewing an hour before but then have to chase them up against to be told nobody’s coming and they’re sorry. I would avoid at all costs and wouldn’t recommend for any buyer especially a first time buyer who’s excited to take a next step in buying a home and faced what we did today.
Didn’t turn up for a viewing.. We received an SMS confirmation with the time and location of the viewing, and also received a phone call an hour before to check we were still attending. We were waiting 15 minutes before we rang the branch and were told they couldn’t get hold of the person our viewing was with and didn’t know where he was. As first time buyers this is not a great impression and start to our house buying journey. We’re very disappointed and will be looking to take our business elsewhere.
