We find them responsive to any queries we have as landlords. Their marketing seems to be fairly successful.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism
Been renting through Brockenhurst since last year, had a bit of a rocky start at first when getting initial issues sorted in the property, but since then they have been very helpful with any problems I've had. A big thumbs up to Chloe at the Ludgershall branch, always quick at replying and a positive work attitude has made her a pleasure to deal with and a very reliable contact at the company.
A really smooth and speedy process buying through Brockenhurst. Matt gave us some excellent advice when we first viewed our now home and his expertise allowed us to secure the property a couple of days later. Whilst under off, Matt was always quick to respond and happy to assist with any requests or questions. We are so pleased in our new home. Thanks Brockenhurst
Emma and the whole of the lettings team have been amazing. I have been thinking about moving for a while but did not understand the whole 6 months notice which I had just been served. However rest assured the team satisfied my nerves and I will be looking to go with Brockenhurst for my next rental. All the best till then
Lovely meal great place for children
Had high hopes for this estate agent as we had some very good viewings with them and got on with the staff that we viewed with. However, when it came to actually trying to buy a property it was very disappointing. An issue came up with the house that they did make us aware of prior to starting the buying process (we went ahead as our broker wrongly said it would be okay with lenders) however the commutation around this was very poor for the following 5 months. Whilst all staff were friendly we were constantly having to email or call to get any updates, particularly in the first few months, and frequently were waiting more than a few days for a response. Then when things seemed to progress more, any communication was only limited to one of us, normally the last person they spoke to. For example I normally had contact with brokenhurst so I was normally called with updates, however if I wasn’t able to answer they didn’t try contacting my partner or send an email. Then if my partner spoke to them they would contact him after but did not attempt to contact me if he wasn’t available! We also asked numerous times for both of us to be included in emails but this didn’t happen and meant that myself and my partner constantly forwarding Brokenhurst’s emails to each other. It became a very frustrating situation that could’ve been less stressful if communication was better. That said, if there weren’t issues with the house it’s possible we would have had a better experience! Like I said, staff were friendly and nice enough to chat to but communication really was appalling! Sadly the sale fell through but it does feel like a blessing in disguise as it was so stressful and we won’t be returning to brokenhurst to buy or sell through. As first time buyers the current market is hard enough already without supportive estate agents!
Very stressful house sale with a difficult buyer. I do feel Brockenhurst could have manged the sale better but understand that some things (nasty men) are out of their control. I'm not convinced we got the premium service we were sold and 'due to the market' had to drop our house price a lot in the end to get a sale. But, I appreciate them listening to and understanding all of our frustrations once the house sale eventually went through.
As a tenant, my experience with Brockenhurst has been absolutely appalling. Here's a summary of what went on, to serve as a warning to those willing to rent through this agency. - To begin with, the process to move into the property was unnecessarily delayed, forcing me to find temporal accommodation in an AirBnb. On my side, everyone was diligent and efficient, but I had to keep insisting over a full month of constant delays and broken promises to get the property. It was advertised as available immediately on the 6th of January, it was given to me on the 9th of February. Communication was almost non existent, and I had to chase them to do their job. - On arrival, they did not give me an inventory. It took a week and a half, and of course me insisting on getting it, to finally get the inventory. Furthermore, the property was clearly not adequately cleaned and presented: chippings on the wall, debris and food left in the kitchen (even their own inventory addressed this), broken blinds, a terribly dirty oven that I had to clean for 2 hours, and many other details I can barely remember. I spent the 7 months I lived here chasing them to fix these issues, and only the blinds got replaced; the rest of my requests were simply ignored. - However, the real concerning bit was the fact that the Electrical Installation Certificate was faulty, and according to the legislation it had to be fixed within 28 days, otherwise the property would not be adequate to live in. I spent ONE HUNDRED DAYS chasing them, I had to go to the Property Redress Scheme to force them to act on it, and even got a compensation due to the obvious lack of professionalism and their poor management of the property. Imagine living in a house that is not considered safe and your agency is refusing to act on it, repeatedly. I literally emailed and phoned every week and it took, I will insist, more than three months for them to finally act on it. Simply appalling. - Shortly after winning the case through the PRS, I was informed quite conveniently that the landlord wanted to sell the property. I asked them how long would it take to finalize the sale, as I was about to go to Spain for the holidays, and they gave me plenty of guarantees that the process would not force me to leave until "December to April", literal words written in their email. Instead, I came back from the holidays to find the notice to vacate by October, by regular mail, not even notified by email. Imagine finding that you have been told to vacate a property a couple of days ago without even knowing about it. No decency whatsoever in communicating adequately with me, even though I was helpful and diligent, accommodating views for prospective buyers and doing my part as a dutiful tenant. - I still found a place rather quickly, well before the time to vacate the property, for myself, to get it all done quickly, and for the property to be readily available for the sale. I was given assurances, once more, that the agency would be flexible with the time that I had to move out, and instead of that I was once more lied to and treated appallingly: I was informed that, despite being the one given notice to vacate, as I did not inform them that I wished to vacate (I had to, you told me to!), my tenancy agreement would still be valid for a full month. So I had to pay a full month worth of rent even though I wasn't going to live there. Once more, no clear communications, outright lies and making me pay, I assume, for bringing them to the PRS and prove that they were a terrible company. I had been punished for protecting my rights as a tenant. I have rented for nearly 9 years, I never had an issue, always paid my rent regularly, I even had two private landlords praising the good state of the property once I had left them, and in turn I have never had such a negative experience with other agencies and private landlord, until this time. If you are a prospective tenant, please read this as a warning. They were awful and will be for others too. Just take a look at the pictures.
