As a tenant I would not recommend Preston Baker at all. They are very bad at returning your deposit. So if you are leaving property soon don't even bother to clean it or getting it cleaned by any professional as they are definitely going to deduct money from your deposit. Tried buying housing through them and again it was a disappointment. Lowest level of customer services.

AWFUL agency. They DO NOT leave you alone. They do not unsubscribe your details - they will email, call and text you forever and a day once you give them a contact. All they do is simply email/call you from one of their other agents. I have reported them to the ICO multiple times but nothing is done.

Hello Jordan, We completely understand that receiving contact after asking to be removed from communications would be frustrating. However, that is not what has happened here. You replied to one of our property emails stating you were “VERY interested” in a house in Tadcaster and asked us to contact you, providing your phone number in the process. Naturally, when someone contacts us asking to be called about a property they say they are very interested in, we will attempt to respond to that enquiry. Following that call, you then complained about being contacted, despite the fact that the enquiry and request for contact came directly from you. For clarity: The contact made was in direct response to your own enquiry asking us to call you. We have not continued to contact you since. We take data protection and ICO regulations extremely seriously and operate strict processes to ensure people can unsubscribe or be removed from communications at any time. If you no longer wish to have any interaction with Preston Baker, we of course fully respect that and wish you all the best with your property search elsewhere. The Preston Baker Team

Pretty poor service over the phone. Didn’t want to provide a valuation service for a property I’m planning to purchase whereas other estate agents are more than willing to do this. Would not recommend

Hi Ben, I'm sorry that we weren't able to help you with this. We have an automated valuation model that might help, that the team member you spoke with perhaps didn't know about, however they are correct that we only provide market appraisals for sellers rather than buyers. We do have a relationship with a surveyor who also could help. Please get back in touch and we can provide the automated valuation.

Terrible experience - sent them all the info they asked for to get me an "in principle" mortgage decision and chased up several times - even raised a formal complaint - and was assured they were dealing with it. Not heard from them for 6 weeks or more now and it's not like they would have had a problem getting me a mortgage. I have since had 2 "in principle decisions" from other brokers, and am proceeding with Barclays - they approved it in 2 days! Would not recommend.

This is an accurate and honest review, I have all the information in emails and SMS so can back this up. 1. I placed an offer on a property which was accepted by the vendor. 2. I sent over all my ID details, proof of funds and solicitors details. 3. Preston Baker sent the Memorandom Of Sale to myself and my solicitors and the house was taken off the market and marked as Sold STC. 4. I submitted my mortgage application and instructed solicitors to proceed, paying the fees. 5. Preston Baker rang me to advise they have submitted another offer to the vendor and would I want to match it. I believe this is called 'gazumping', note this was after my offer was accepted and the house taken off the website etc. I tried to raise my offer and then received a further email asking for full and final offers. 6. My offer was presumably beaten as it was rejected by the vendor. I have now had to cancel my mortgage application (this may impact my credit score), cancel the solicitors (which I may not get a full refund for) and look for another house. I am sure the vendor is happy as they have a better offer but as far as a potential buyer I would be very wary using Preston Baker as you could agree a sale and then be gazumped later down the line leaving you out of pocket. As you can see from Preston Bakers reply, they will submit any offer during the process even if you have had an offer agreed and instructed solicitors, beware you will end up out of pocket like I have due to the gazumping practice.

We only ever act upon the sellers instruction when negotiating offers and followed their wishes by taking best and final offers from both parties ultimately resulting in an offer being accepted from the other party. I don’t know this company is professional or not , all I felt is arrogant. When I’ve tried to make an appointment for the viewing , from the staff who answered the phone for the appointment, who viewed the property with us , and who called me back after the viewing, they all had a arrogant attitude!what a team work !! For example, when the lady rang me back after viewed, she saids this on the phone :”hello, xxxx , how’s it going with the property?” When I said this probably is not for us . She replies two words :”how come “?. After my reply again, she saids:”ok “ then hand up . I can’t feel any politeness or welcomed for business from their attitude. This is the most arrogant state agent I’ve ever see!NegativeQuality

Sophie Scott has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Due to her awful attitude I will never sell any of my future property through Preston Baker. I will continue to use Peter Moody, as his customer service is amazing. Helen (at Preston Baker) is one of most professional people I have met in Estate Agents, so Sophie's arrogance has let it down.

The experience as a tenant was very ok up to the point when we gave notice, when it seemed like the quality of the service changed, from having viewings at the property without notice and consent and also having the landlord around without notice and consent to now constantly having to chase for updates on the deposit, even though it's been a month since we vacated the property. We also participated in an event launch for a house where the fact that there was an asbestos garage on the property was not mentioned, which is a legal requirement, but also mislead as the dates for the end of the launch kept changing.

We appreciate the end of your tenancy hasn't gone the way you would have liked, but that is down to your Landlord, not us. We can only act on the instructions of a landlord as his agent, whilst doing our best to act as liaison between both parties. We feel this rating doesn't truly reflect what service we have provided to you during your tenancy.

Once again these idiot find new ways to disappoint. Instructed the to release my property, but they didn't and waited a month until it wad empty to advertise it. We were 'transfer' to Preston Baker when they bought out another agency. As a landlord the service from them since has been dire. We deal with a different person ever time we contact them, had to pay twice for the same repair and we've found that our tenants have resorted to sorting issue themselves as the agency doesn't always pass on notice of problems. Has taken a month for to arrange the place to be cleanes after their tennant left it dirty cost us lost income. Avoid at all cost
