Had an awful landlord & letting experience at a property Preston Baker did the advertising and contract drafting for - told them about my issues but they didn't care as they weren't managing the letting, just advertising it; fair enough. But they could have done something for us with them having the landlord's ear. Some of our problems were exacerbated by poorly worded parts of our tenancy agreement - which made dealing with the landlord harder than it needed to be. Whenever he referenced them he would argue that they were in favour of something good for him and bad/awful for us. Whether he was telling the truth or not, we can't be entirely sure. Some of our problems included: incorrectly overcharging for things & refusing to acknowledge the facts on how to work things out the right way, burying his head in the sand and delaying essential works, making us pay for things broken due to wear and tear from regular and proper use (his responsibility), leaving his own goods on our property without permission, attempting to charge OVER TEN TIMES what a deposit dispute service agreed was a reasonable charge for the works needed on the property after we vacated, still contacting us asking for more money for this after the dispute service settled the matter (so we still had emails off him after getting him out of our lives). We were unlucky in getting an unstable landlord (he had neither the time, money or soft skills required to be a good one) but PB could have mitigated some of our issues but didn't.
