I had been badly let down by a local Marlborough Estate agent, who had had my mother's flat on their books for months, had only done a very small number of viewings, on which they had given me no feedback at all and then who - without discussion - suggested a massive price drop. I had met Ross Sutton, one of the partners from Richard James in another context and had been very impressed, so I thought I would give him a go. 'You mean you are moving to an agent without a presence on the high street', said the agent I had fired (who was then very difficult before letting go of the key). I liked Richard James from the beginning. Lots of viewings, good feedback after each one. Professional and up to date advice (e.g. on using Rightmove). The people working for Ross were also very good. I particularly liked the firm's good communication with me, representing their seller (my mum). In the end, we accepted an offer some way above the price recommended by Agent 1 (though in fairness still below what we had originally been hoping for, but that's the market for you!). Then their sales expediter was very good in getting me to do what I needed to do to exchange contracts on a timely basis. All very professional and good natured and a pleasure to do business with. I recommend them whole-heartedly!
