Myself and my partner picked Andrew Grant to be our estate agents when we rented our first property, what a mistake that was. From the start we didn't feel welcomed into the property, the day we picked up the keys they were practically thrown at us, and from then on it just got worse and worse. This was going to be our first home together so it was scary enough and Andrew grant made everything 10x worse. The service from staff was just horrendous, the attitude of some of them was that bad i actually thought it was some sort of set up, we're not rude people and had no reason to be treated this way. The property we moved into was falling apart from the beginning, although it looked beautiful to the eye the actual place itself was falling apart bit by bit because of the awful building work. When we would call up and ask for someone to come take a look it would take them weeks at a time, and the 2 guys in particular they sent out absolutely infuriated me. They made jokes about how bad the foundation of the house was and how I was stupid to move there in the first place, they said it'll have problem and after problem and as that was my first house I was absolutely terrified by that statement. We let all that slide until the end of our tenancy, when we moved in to the property it was so filthy and dirty we spent a whole week cleaning it before actually moving in, and when we left we cleaned the place again top to bottom although I just wanted to get out as quickly as I could. Andrew grant then took 3 weeks to discuss our deposit with us, which only happened because WE called 8 times in one week trying to get hold of someone but they were all "out of office" every single time we tried. That aside, when we finally reached Sulmaan Mohammed he explained they were taking money off for cleaning, although the place was 10x cleaner than it was when we moved in! But, we had another house at this time so we needed the deposit back desperately so we didn't look too far into the deduction. Sulmaan then promised we would have the money back within 3-5 working days, it has now been a further week! When I called Sulmaan he said it was because the main lady that deals with it is away on holiday. And that's my problem how exactly? So if you're thinking about renting from Andrew grant make sure nobody is on holiday because you won't get your deposit back apparently!! It's a complete joke. We were so calm and patient throughout this horrible experience but the fact Andrew Grant asked me for a review just made me think how careless they are. They obviously haven't looked over my tennancy and seen all the problems we've had otherwise they would never have asked for a review from me. So long story short we have moved into our lovely new home with the most amazing help from Nicol and Co estate agency (an estate agency that actually knows what customer care means) and were so happy to have that 6 months of our lives over and done with. To think we almost took out a year tenancy!!! Oh and also, all the things that went wrong in the house they tried to take money off us for even though we called them and reported it as soon as it happened. They're an absolute con. So anyone thinking of renting off this awful company please note I spoke to around 12 staff members and they're all as rude as each other. It was without a doubt the most stressful and unhappy time of my life and I'm glad it's over with. Cheers!!
