Curchods Teddington helped my family to move from our sold property in Teddington to a rental in December 2022. Leah managed the process very professionally and was helpful and a good communicator throughout. In the New Year Leah picked up an issue about heating and venting that should have been directed to Migle in the other division, and handled it swiftly with no fuss. She has picked up the last issue about a balancing valve and will respond to us. Great service

Nick West and Jack Kidd worked very hard from day one to sell my house, and I moved exactly three months after it went on the market, despite a period of volatility during the referendum. Both Nick and Jack were highly professional, efficient and knowledgeable in their dealings with me and my purchaser, and although I was obliged to drop my price from its original estimate, I felt that the eventual sale price reflected the true value of the property. In hindsight, I would have benefited from a more realistic initial valuation because it can be difficult to accept that your home, whilst invested with personal pride and sentiment, is only a real estate commodity.

A mixed experience which seems to be at odds with the other reviews, making it more curious. The team were professional and responsive and did a great job of getting my place listed at short notice and shown to prospective buyers. No complaints at all. The work on sales progression was really poor. The chain below me didn’t seem to be well managed and I’d say it’s 50/50 at best if we would have ended up successfully moving without the tenacious work of another agent higher up in the chain. I formally fed this back both during and after exchange and was told by Curchods that we had completed within an acceptable timescale given the tough market - which isn’t the point I was disputing, I was disputing whether they had paid an active enough role in getting to the sale. When we were urgently trying to get to a very delayed exchange it was discovered that the EA at the bottom of the chain wasn’t even aware of any of the deadlines that had been discussed. I would prefer that 50% of the commission had gone to that agent who did more hard work as I genuinely think it would have fallen through without his involvement. Lots of positives as I say, but wanted to share my honest review.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review and we always welcome all reviews positive or negative, or both in the same review! All comments duly noted and taken on board and we strive to always exceed our clients expectations which we almost always manage to do, so this is a timely reminder to keep aiming even higher. I would say that affecting an exchange of contracts within 8 weeks from an onward chain being complete for a client is well below the average time (12 weeks) of most transactions. All the best with your move. Rob Gutcher, Partner.

Having had 3 viewings in the diary for a week they canceled them less than 24hrs before stating that they are only showing the property to buyers who are "proceedable" [SIC]!

Hi Ben, we have to work in the best interests of our clients (the seller). We only show properties to buyers who are in a financially suitable position to buy the property, this is so we don't waste our clients' time making the property ready for viewings, cleaning and vacating it etc, if after the viewing it turns out the buyer isn't in a suitable financial position to purchase the property. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the experience, but hopefully this will go a way towards explaining the process we have to adhere to for buyers looking to view properties.

Mixed - we got there in the end. Nick West was excellent, but the more junior members of the team not quite up to Nick's very high standards. Overall good, but perhaps with some room for improvement - which I'm sure will happen as the junior members gain experience.

Just got my phone cut after I said the property we've viewed is not something we are looking for :(

AVOID. After looking for a property in the local area, I saw one I liked with Curchods. I found the process of booking a viewing awful, before I was allowed to go and look I had to have a call with one of their staff who asked me personal questions about my financial position. BEFORE A VIEWING! This was for a £400k flat, hardly the rolls royce of homes (I can understand if it was a premium development). Needless to say they were late for the appointment and I didn't like the apartment anyway, so all in all a waste of time and now they have all of my personal details. Would NOT recommend.

We ask potential buyers questions about their financial position and their personal info for two key reasons: 1. Security, we are very aware that we are responsible for our clients homes during viewings, we need to ask buyers questions to ensure we know who we are taking to properties. 2. We ask about your financial position so we can pre-qualify our buyers, this is so we don't waste our clients' time making the property ready for viewings, cleaning and vacating it etc, if after the viewing it turns out the buyer isn't in a suitable financial position to purchase the property. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the experience, but hopefully this will go a way towards explaining the process we have to adhere to for buyers looking to view properties.
