Absolute disgraceful. Put our property on the market without checking we were happy with pictures and write up. They put false info in their advert for our house. We tried to get them to take the post down but it took them two full days to do so. Thankfully we were still in the 7 day withdrawal period. They are cheap for a reason.

Ayden and Loyd were very helpful and on the ball, however we had a bathroom full of mould from having g no extractor fan that nothing was done about, no bathroom like for nearly 2 years before it was fixed! Bedroom was also going mouldy! A wasps nest outside the bedroom window that would leave 5/6 wasps in our room in the summer, and I also remember talking to one very very rude older lady on the phone! This was a couple of years ago bit still a very bad landlord.

After 2 years paying rent on time and looking after property I’m being rewarded with them delaying paying deposit back for more than a month. We’ve moved to sketchy property with patchy decoration described in a report but they try to deduct money for every little thing “landlord” can find. Even for previous tenants faults. Absolutely disgusting treatment, I should just not pay last month rent and save my family a hustle and stress. If you’re tenant then better to avoid this agent. You will be treated as a milk cow, they will always side with landlords however dodgy.

Tenants!!!!! Do not trust that this agency will protect you or will have your best interest as their priority (even low one). As they informed me they are “landlord’s agents” despite its us tenants who pays their bills. They did not repair reported damage for over six months. At moving out agents charged us over three quarters of the bond without signed moving-out inventory (that included replacing carpet in small bedroom for over 200 pounds). They did not allow us to fix whatever they thought was to be fixed even though we moved out a week before new tenants moved in. They just informed us how much they going to charge us. So before you’ll go ahead with Martin and co in Tamworth, please check other agencies. I’ll never ever rent from them. ——————————————— I have only two questions to an answer given 7 months ago to low rating. Do you have signed moving out inventory for this case (that you apparently reviewed)? Because I, as a tenant that was leaving the property, haven’t seen it. And also you’ve promised you’ll submit a quote to me before you’ll rectify any damages (and honestly not fully trimmed hedge should not be deemed as damage, stating this is just pure manipulation). Did you do that? Because again I haven’t seen it. You’ve employed a third party company for this service from a different town. Perhaps someone from the family or close friends. And you’ve let them to charge me 230 GBP for replacing carpet (that was marked stained in moving in inventory) in one of the bedrooms (not a ball room). Or maybe on entire floor or other houses as well (perhaps family or close friends). I don’t know, I was not informed about the price per square meter, how many meters are needed, none of the details related to the activity. Furthermore I’ve paid part of the costs for clearing the loft which was not even a part of inventory (but as a gesture of good will I’ve accepted that cost). In return I got arrogant treatment (that still persist looking at your reply), no chances to correct what was to correct and yes, you’ve been granted full amount that you’ve request, but only because I was late with my evidences (and that was solely my mistake and I paid for that), not because arbiter decided you were right. So maybe YOU should be looking if YOUR statement is factually correct. So again I’ll not be recommending your ‘services’ to potential tenants, even more I’ll be strongly advising them to NOT to use you as letting agency. I have also talked to the landlord who owns a few houses and had experiences with your organization, that made him reluctant to get further business relationship with Martin&Co in Tamworth again.

Thank you. Having reviewed your tenancy history, we can see that the team has followed the landlord’s instructions and the legal requirements regarding the holding of deposits. Unfortunately, your statement is factually incorrect. We act on behalf of the landlord offering a service. You have implied that we have incorrectly taken funds from your bond. As you may be aware all bonds, or more correctly called deposits, are held by an independent government body, in this case the DPS, and no deductions from your deposit can be made without your consent or the permission of an arbiter. We clearly set out the damage that we believe was done to the property during your tenancy which was evidenced by the inventory and pictures taken after you vacated. You disagreed with the fact that you caused any damage and therefore the matter was referred to independent arbitration by the DPS. Both sides were given the opportunity to submit written evidence and after reviewing our evidence the independent arbiter found in the landlord’s favour and allowed the deduction. I’m sorry you feel disappointed with regards to your deposit, however, positively, the landlord was able to repair the damage and return the property to its original condition for their next tenants.

Couldn't agree more with the second review. Same situation.Avoid them!! Waited ages for the boiler to be fixed in freezing cold house having two children. Tenants treated with no respect both from the agency and the landlady Never again Shame on you You don't deserve 1 star...

Thank you, I have reviewed your tenancy history and believe that both we and the landlord have acted more than reasonably. Having been advised that your boiler had broken down, we immediately dispatched one of our heating engineers to repair the boiler. We appreciate that the nature of the fault meant that the boiler could not be repaired quickly and therefore at this agency’s own expense we provided you with electric heaters during this time. Ultimately, the landlord, rather than repair the boiler, replaced the boiler at a cost of over £2,000. We take all emergency situations very seriously and unlike some other agents, we have a 24/7 365 day answer service where you can speak to a person at all times, if the matter is extremely urgent you can be put through to a director of this agency. We have not put the above in place at considerable cost just to ignore urgent situations. We also have a system of providing heaters as mentioned above. One last point is that the landlord allowed you to leave the property early and thus saving yourself almost £400 in rent that was contractually due. We are sorry with your experience of renting through this agency and wish you all the best for the future.
