Ombudsman complaint upheld and compensation awarded for: 1. EweMove agent removing and disposing of house contents, in breach of written instruction and contract of sale. 2. Complaints process being terribly managed, with obligations on how to treat a complaint being disregarded and instead threatened with legal action.

Dear Mr. Honhold, To address the recent comments you posted, which have been taken out of context and may lead to misunderstandings. In 2022, we sold your property. There were unforeseen delays due to a defective lease, which were entirely beyond our control. Throughout this period, we made every effort to resolve the issues promptly. However, despite our diligent efforts, you chose not to settle our invoice after the sale was concluded, instead raising various accusations to avoid paying our fees and then demanding a 50% reduction. You did not raise any complaints during this challenging transaction. The issues were only brought to our attention after the sale was completed, and the fees became due. Consequently, we were compelled to initiate legal proceedings against you and your partner. In response, you filed a complaint with the Property Ombudsman. The Property Ombudsman has reviewed the case and found it overwhelmingly in our favour, requesting you to settle our fees in full, with a minor deduction. The ruling is comprehensive, spanning 13 pages. Unfortunately, the extract you have shared omits crucial context, which could mislead others. This may stem from dissatisfaction with the Property Ombudsman’s decision, particularly as your request for a 50% fee reduction was not supported. It's important to note that the Property Ombudsman did not uphold several of your complaints. We have considered and taken on board the feedback from the Property Ombudsman. As an agency, we value transparency, fairness, and we hold ourselves to a high standard, and we regret that we did not fully meet these standards in our communication with you. We apologise for the shortcomings on our part that led to this situation.

Cowboys Cowboys making the most of the supply and demand of the market. Turned up at the property to view and speak with Mohammed Ahmed, branch manager at Stratford who didn't want to talk and was clearly just there to keep the door open on the property. Don't trust or go with them, there are plenty of estate agents that are willing to treat customers with enough respect and communication out there. The branch manager at Stratford is the worst consultant I have ever had to deal with. I had to chase him to answer simple questions and it was clear that he only wanted to get the max amount for the landlord, which is fair enough but as a customer, we deserved better treatment. The reviews on trust pilot all look fake. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I have been in sales for over 10 years to understand that this is not customer service but just poor customer service.

Thank you for your feedback. We provided access for you to view the property promptly on the day you enquired on the freehold house. We also provide you with a 2nd viewing for you to help decide and finalise your formal offer. However, chasing us for a response within one hour with 7/8 calls while we are attending appointments and not being able to communicate does not, in our opinion, constitute poor customer service. The property, in particular, was very popular and had several offers. On this occasion, the vendor accepted the higher offer. We're sorry for any disappointment caused, but we must act in accordance with the seller's wishes. We wish you all the best of luck in your property search.

About

Hello! I'm Mo, Stratford & Forest Gate's local EweMove personal agent. Nice to meet you... I've lived in Forest Gate since 2000, and have worked within the property industry in the area since 2007. I made the move to Stratford and Forest Gate because of the incredibly diverse and friendly people, I visited previously and instantly fell in love with the area. I knew it had to be my home, so I picked myself up and landed here! I haven't looked back since. I've been in the property industry for some years now, so I've seen what makes a great agent and a poor one. I'm a member of the National Association of Estate Agents, which means I've learnt how to perfect my customer service skills, by learning from some of the best in the business. It's helped my understanding and knowledge of property, compliance and regulations to no end too! It might sound cheesy, but my favourite part of the job is making people happy and helping people find their dream homes. It's given me some fantastic memories. I find it genuinely fulfilling and get great sense of job satisfaction from helping people find and move into their dream home. The fact we can be there from start to finish with one point of contact throughout for our customers is how so many people we have helped that have moved within the area became personal friends.
