Rented a property in Stoke for 6 months and had issues within the first week. House was freshly decorated but only to hide the mold and damp that was riddled within the property. They literally just painted over the mold, which caused said paint to peel off within days of moving in. A damp expert came out and said it was impossible to trace its source as everywhere was so saturated. Landlord and Northwood admitted that the only solution was to rip out the kitchen and bathroom above. Landlord confirmed the damp and mold was known about before the house was rented out, yet it was rented out anyway. Our guidance was to open the windows and turn up the heating.... in winter. On top of this, the boiler kept cutting out due to a pressure leak (probably what was causing the damp/mold) we were told to top up the boiler rather than Northwood resolving the issue. There wasn't sufficient insulation. Contractors turn up when they want, if they turn up. Staff at the office use any excuse under the sun as to why things aren't resolved or why they don't get back in touch. We had to get the council and ombudsman involved things got that bad.
