When I assumed responsibility for the sale of my late mother's bungalow in Alphington I approached a few estate agents and Chris Parkes made the best impression, representing a firm with a long-standing connection to the area, rather than being part of a national chain with, possibly, their 'corporate approach'. His assessment of the likely value and saleability of the property seemed soundly based - he used similar comparator properties to do this together with his assessment of the property situation and local environment. He also explained at what point in the process of dealing with my late mother's estate it would make sense to market the property. It soon became apparent that the market at that time for the type of property I was selling was 'slow' and Chris was happy to discuss my options for trying to achieve a sale, without pushing me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. In the event it took 6 months to achieve the sale but at no time did I feel pressured to significantly drop the price to get a sale to allow the estate agent to pocket the commission and move on. I found Chris and his colleagues at the Fraser & Wheeler Cowick Street office to be friendly, professional helpful and efficient. The fact that I live 200+ miles from Exeter was never a problem as Chris and his colleagues were always available by phone or email exchange. They handled all of the viewings on my behalf - always contacting me in advance to check that a viewing could go ahead, which allowed me to inform neighbours keeping an eye on the property. I always received feedback following each viewing and it was apparent that Chris would maintain contact with any potential buyer who seemed interested. When the sale was agreed, Fraser & Wheeler liaised with the buyers on my behalf throughout the process leading to successful completion. I was kept informed throughout. I am happy to recommend Fraser & Wheeler based on the service I received as there is no aspect of this that I could fault.
