They have been very good with looking after my property
very helpful estate agents. would recommend.
I had a very disappointing experience with Thomas Morris and wouldn't use them again. I ended up conducting one and a half viewings myself. On one occasion, our first viewing I had to do myself entirely, at which it was claimed the viewer came at the wrong time, but the viewer claimed otherwise; on another, the agent was stuck in traffic, and I had to conduct the first half of the tour myself. Next, their follow-up with potential buyers was incredibly poor. It appeared they would give up after just two missed calls. I know this because I also experienced their service as a buyer in the same area. It is telling that after months of stagnation, a buyer was only secured the day before my notice period with them expired. This I think is my fault for not thinking about that before choosing them. The most frustrating part was the lack of transparency regarding their commission. During initial negotiations, I explicitly stated they needed to match a competitor’s offer, which was a percentage based on the final sale price. Instead, Thomas Morris buried a fixed fee in the contract based on the original marketing price. This was never explicitly explained to me verbally or in writing, and it resulted in a higher charge despite the house selling for less than the guide price. I feel this was a deliberate lack of transparency, but I guess it was my fault for both not reading the fine print, and for assuming the figure in my contract was just an illustration and that they were negotiating in good faith. The only good point was the in house sales progresser, and the staff overall being friendly and pleasant to deal with for the most part. But all the rest means I can't recommend them. They did sell the house which nets them a star.
Poor service from the lettings side so far with little positive communication between us / Landlord.
I’m afraid we didn’t have a very good experience with Thomas Morris. We had Dominic visit our house to discuss marketing strategies which included a “soft launch” where hot applicants would be invited to see the house before it went live on …
Disappointing experience selling with Thomas Morris. The listing was left incomplete on Rightmove for weeks, which likely affected buyer interest. This was only discovered after I was advised to reduce the asking price—interest that may well have been suppressed by the listing’s initally poor presentation. For an estate agent, this is a fundamental oversight. Separate from the marketing process, Jenny was helpful and responsive during sales progression. However, based on the overall experience, I wouldn’t use them again.
Used to be great but has gone downhill recently. So we had to drop them as the letting agent for our property due to declining service quality. Just to top it off they said they would arrange for the garden to be tended to. After a month and with our chasing they said the gardener was injured but at no point did they tell us. Now the grass is over a foot tall and they've just given money back to us to wipe their hands of it. Very, very disappointed.
