It's been weeks (update: over a year now) since I've had problems that needed fixing, one of which they claimed would be done May 1st 2022. It's now July 27th so do the math. They're so lax you'd think they were on holiday without a care in the world about servicing their customers. It's like they expect YOU to chase them up for problems they created. The ceiling was one of many documented issues they never fixed after claiming it would be before May 1st 2022. This extends to heating, door locks, and beyond like water dripping from the ceiling (watch the video).

I rented a property from these and left in august 2023, its now march2024, and martin and co are still claiming rent payments from the DWP. COMPANIES LIKE THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUD

Hi Paul, We have contacted Universal Credit multiple times about the fact they are still sending rent to us for you (on a standing order we have no control over). All the funds they have sent us are in a holding account waiting for them to respond. If you have a case manager with Universal Credit please get them to contact us on 01253 708911 to help us expedite sending the funds back to them.

I recently rented a property and had some issues when moving in. * The key I was given for the property didn't work. It hadn't been checked and nobody came to show me into the property. * I wasn't given a key for the bin / meter room so I couldn't set up the water bill. I emailed about it and got no reply after 10 days. I emailed again and got told it would be sorted out but nobody came after 4 days. In the end I had to go to the office myself and the keys were there all along. * I asked for details about the electricity so that I could set it up in my name. The first message I sent wasn't replied to. Then I was given the wrong company for the supplier which I wasted a month chasing up. I still haven't got everything set up after a month when it could all have been sorted in 10 minutes. It's been extremely depressing when it could have been a trouble free and positive experience if the agent had been proactive. I wouldn't usually give such a negative rating but there are 14 5-star reviews for a different company called Whitegates so it seemed reasonable to share my experience.

Do not go with this letting agent, absolute shocking. I have mould and damp all over my bathroom and bedroom. Can't even wash as shower is unusable, got paint falling of walls in kitchen. They don't do anything apart from sit in office twiddling there thumbs. Stay away from these at all costs. Put a review on before about them got asked by staff to take it of. Not this time. Find another place do not go with this company

A disgusting way to treat a new mum! My daughter gave birth to twins in February and I think the stress she has been put under due to incompetence of Martin & Co St Annes is disgusting. In short, she has been reporting damaged pipes at her rented property which is managed by Martin & Co which cause her garden to flood on a daily basis since the start of January. We have lost count of the amount of times we had follow up this repair to no avail. On Saturday the whole drain fell from the wall leaving a gaping hole and no way of drawing her bath, sink, washing machine. Her neighbour is understandably concerned about the water seeping in to his garden, which is loading more stress on to her and still no sign of a repair man. I am absolutely astounded and furious that my daughter has been caused so much unnecessary trauma at an already stressful time in her life and let’s not think what could have happened if my grandsons were outside in their pram when the whole cast iron pipe fell. The staff at this branch have no taken any responsibility, Jack, Caitlin and Jenna have all dealt with my daughter regarding this issue and not one person has tak en the initiative or the responsibility to sort this for her.

Hi Molly, Thank you for leaving a review. In this case the landlord manages their own maintenance, not ourselves. We completely agree that it is unacceptable and we have been chasing this with the landlord's contractor continuously since this was brought to our attention. And we have been in touch with Libby to update her frequently. I am sorry that it has caused her any frustration and we are dedicated to helping her. - Caitlin

Absolutely awful and unprofessional estate agents. Had problems since day one with this unprofessional outfit. Zero help with any maintenance issues. The 'emergency contact' number goes to nothing on whatsapp or text which they inform you do in an emergency situation. Jokers. I always have to sort out any issues with the property with my landlord and this lot don't do anything or offer any help. On my first day of renting the property, the agent cancelled my moving in time within an hour of us moving in and I had a car loaded with stuff and we'd already set off. I posted an initial bad reviews of the business here on Google as we were waiting. When greeted by the estate agent, the first thing she did was have a major strop about my review before even offering any apologies with the changing of times. I'd had major surgery too at the time so was not ideal at all. Honestly, avoid these jokers. I've got no time or respect for them now as they obviously don't care about their jobs or take it seriously, I'm guessing the higher ups don't either and just want peoples money. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

I work and live from home so this is really affecting me (headaches, irritation, and tinnitus) and I don't understand how the tenants at the property are managing with the noise considering I am across the road (unless the trajectory of the intercom only affects my flat)! This issue has been reported more than 5 times in the first 3 months to the letting agent. Although I have had responses from the letting agent that contractors will look into it, there has been no solution in all that time. Since then I have been submitting recordings to the Council via a Noise Pollution complaint and app to try and get an actual fix for the property they manage which is just ridiculous. I'm now even considering moving home due to this issue. If you were considering this agent I would strongly recommend looking at professional agents to do the job. The bottom line is I certainly wouldn't be impressed with the services or responses as a tenant or a landlord.
