Georgina Barnes was very helpful, but the move in wasn't great if I'm honest. I moved into a dirty room, with flies on the windowsill, dust all over, stains in the toilet and a mattress and bed that must be 15+ years old and is completely knackered! On complaining about the state of the furniture in the room, their reply was 'Well you've letted it as seen'. I'm sorry, but I don't know many people who will try out a bed on looking around a room. I then told them I have a bed myself and would like to swap it, to which the response was 'well you have to get rid of it yourself now'. Fantastic. I've got rid of the bed, but have had to use the same mattress for a couple of days. It's been severely itchy and I've now got a rash on my back/chest from it. The maintenance and upkeep of these shared houses, managed under CJ Hole are disgusting. It really does show why a Landlord should take charge of their own properties, as it reflects badly on them. I'm happy at least that the housemates are great and that after a bit of TLC and a new mattress, I'll be happy. I won't be using them again after this tenancy.
I was shocked with the service that I received from CJ Hole. We paid our deposit waited for a week to be told that we had lost the house and the landlord didn't want to deal with CJ Hole. I can not tell you how much of a waste of space this company is, if you read this review no matter how nice/cheap/perfect the house is do not go with this company they don't deserve it for there complete lack of ability to do the job that they claim their company does. Avoid at all costs.
CJ Hole nearly made us homeless after taking our holding fee without having the house secured or actually on their books! They took our money and did not send us any contracts so we repeatedly rang them requesting them. They repeatedly told us they would send them right away. Three days later we demanded the contracts to which they replied they had only a verbal confirmation from the landlord which then turned into no confirmation because the landlord no longer wanted to deal with them! If we did not contact CJ Hole they may have left it for days, with our money in their bank, wasting precious time as we needed to move in two weeks. Awesome work guys!
Horrendous agents. Did they sell the property? Yes. Manager, Sam, attended to the valuation and I was blown away with the professionalism, honesty and promise of aftersale services. This is where the good stuff about them ends. They have a dedicated after sales line, it’s option 4, don’t bother ringing it, they never answer it. On the 29 occasions that I attempted, it wasn’t answered once. Voicemails are ignored. One time the inbox was full so couldn’t even leave a voicemail. Awful service. We had an issue with our property during the sale which the buyer was legally obligated to be informed of, naturally, we were worried and wanted to be kept informed. Were we? Ofocurse, not. A full week later, I called again only to be told that the buyer hadn’t even been made aware, a bit of a problem when me as the vendor has to make the agent aware of legal obligations. When these complaints were raised with Sam, the manager, they were met with excuses such as being understaffed and automated emails being sufficient as a means of communication. Considering they were considerably more expensive than other agents, their service fell grossly short of being considered satisfactory let alone impressive. Avoid!
Impossible to get in touch with anyone to even view properties. Several days of calling and calling and leaving voicemails and then they finally called back once the properties I was interested in had already been let. Exhausting.
