Once you've had foie gras it's hard to go back to pâté . . .

When I first decided to move to Spain over three years ago, my first thought of course was what to do about my flat. Being an American owner, with a close personal connection to this refuge I've created for myself in London, unsurprisingly I didn't really like the idea of having to rent it out to strangers. I particularly didn't like the idea of renting it out for a year or more, and letting someone else move in and really actually take over the place. A friend of mine had recommended that I speak to the folks at Outlet and see if they could at least go through some options with me. It was a great relief to sit down with Josh Rafter as he recommended that perhaps my best option would be to only do short lets, and he assured me that there would be enough demand to cover my costs, while also allowing me the option to come back and use the flat myself occasionally when it wasn't occupied. He also assured me that Outlet would do their upmost to ensure a certain quality of tenants, and to take care of my place as if it were their own. To be honest I was skeptical about one agency being able to keep the property occupied with enough short lets to give me the income I needed to cover all my costs, so I signed up with a few more just in case. More than three years later, and I can honestly say that not only have Outlet been the primary source of all my tenancies, but they have also proven themselves to be the agency that I would always choose over any other if it came down to having to make a choice between two offers at the same time. They really are on a completely different level to everyone else. Given that I make a habit of connecting with all my tenants personally at some point, I have heard numerous complaints over the years about the lack of attention or communication when other agencies were involved, but never with Outlet. In fact, in over three years I have never had a single complaint or bad experience with Outlet and I have come to trust them with my home as if they were my family, rather than just an agency, because this is how they make you feel. I still have my flat registered with other agencies, but in all honesty I can't even remember the last time it was occupied by a tenant from anywhere other than Outlet. Once you've had foie gras, it's hard to go back to pâté . . . and Outlet is indeed a cut above the rest.
