Extremely disappointing response from the manager of Dawsons’ Sketty branch. I contacted the branch because my friend’s rented property—managed by Dawsons—is approximately 30 seconds away and has a serious roof leak, with water now entering close to the electrics. The tenant cannot safely use the electricity or remain in her home. I fully understand that this particular branch handles sales rather than rental maintenance. I did not expect the sales team to repair the roof. I did, however, expect a branch manager representing the same company to show some empathy, take the safety concern seriously and help secure an urgent internal response. Instead, the reply focused almost entirely on distancing the branch from responsibility: I was told that it “deals solely with property sales” and that further correspondence should be directed elsewhere. The tone was curt and dismissive considering that a tenant had been forced to leave an unsafe property managed by Dawsons just seconds from the branch. Passing an email to another department is the bare minimum. A serious potential electrical hazard deserved concern, ownership and an active escalation—not a corporate brush-off. A company may divide itself into departments, but customers understandably see one Dawsons. The lack of empathy and urgency from the Sketty branch manager was appalling.
