If you are looking for extremely poor customer service, Ewemove definitely meets your expectations. Over the course of three years, I faced serious and ongoing issues, including major leaks, broken appliances, faulty windows, and excessive delays in repairs — some of which remained unresolved for an unreasonably long time. For example, you might not believe it, but the window was broken. I sent multiple emails, they came to inspect it, even took measurements, and yet after three years, when we left the property, the window was still broken. Communication was consistently unreliable. Emails and calls were frequently ignored, and once rent was paid, tenant concerns did not appear to be a priority. I was also repeatedly given conflicting and misleading information about whether and how the landlord had been contacted, which created confusion and undermined trust. After three years, I eventually spoke directly with the landlord, who stated that they had not been informed about several of these issues. This directly contradicted what I had earlier been told by the agency, where I was informed that the landlord was aware and had declined to act. This did not seem to be an isolated issue with one individual; rather, it reflected a wider pattern, including after the transition from Salisbury to Winchester. After seeing this kind of behavior and service, it became very clear to me why the Salisbury branch was closed. Regarding the return of my deposit, despite speaking with James before handing over the property and clearly asking that, at the very least, this be handled properly and on time, more than three weeks passed after checkout. During this period, I sent multiple follow-up emails and chased the matter, yet received no response. It was only after I stated that I would take legal action that the deposit was returned within a matter of hours. Apparently, what should have been a simple click was treated like rocket science — somehow taking three weeks to complete. Working with them has truly been a nightmare. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution before renting through Ewemove. Save yourself the stress, learn from my experience. You've been warned.
As an investor group. We are really disappointed with the lack of communication when trying to purchase property from ewe move Salisbury
We were a tenant at a Ewemove managed property. If you can avoid them, do so. They were unprofessional and tried to keep over 1,000 of our deposit. Thankfully, Deposit protection came through and adjudication was in our favor. We tried very hard to solve everything at the lowest level but emails were never answered and no proof of any charges were ever provided. If you are forced to use them, document and photograph EVERYTHING as they will certainly try to scam you out of your deposit. We moved out in July and received our deposit back in November after a lengthy and unnecessary delay. If you are a landlord working with Ewemove, just know that they are horrible to deal with as a tenant.
I would never rent from this company again. Deceitful and unprofessional. I would recommend taking plenty of photos when you move out because this company will lie and try to take your deposit.
My experience with Ewe Move (Lettings) has unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth for ever renting future properties again. When issues were raised, it took an unnessacery amount of time to be resolved (6+ months on some occasions). Some were never fixed in the 2 years we were at the property. It seemed unless it benefitted them in some way, we would always struggle to get quick responses. The offices are always closed, you never get through to the right person and have to put in so much effort to get anything done. Wouldnt reccomend 🙂
I have phoned the 2 offices 4 times this week about my concerns on not receiving my rent. Only to be told there is no one available at the present and some one will get back to me but they never do. Not impressed. Tony Gooch.
Judging by the other reviews, Ewemove clearly put all of their effort into sales which takes away from lettings/tenants. Having just ended a 2.5yr tenancy with Ewemove Salisbury (formerly Martin & Co), unfortunately almost every interaction, which I kept to a minimum, required more effort than necessary even when it was a simple task. The 1 star may seem harsh but this has stemmed from the most serious and frustrating of the incidents with these letting agents - they left my flat unlocked. Following an inspection which took place when I was away, the flat was left unlocked by the agent (voiding my insurance should something have happened) and as I was away, it remained unlocked for several days. Sadly there were numerous instances where simple requests or tasks required multiple chasing emails, visits to the shop, and generally took far longer than it should have. I could list several but this review is already long enough. I will leave you with the most recent - I gave Ewemove 4 weeks notice of my leaving, as required, and they did not organise the checkout process until 3 days before my move-out date, despite several chasing emails. It was finally sorted as I attended the shop and cornered them into doing something! They then proceeded to send the landlord a 47 page document detailing 'issues' regarding amount of deposit to return, which thankfully my landlord disagreed with, and overruled to return it in full. It then took Ewemove 2 weeks to process the return of my deposit, despite (again) several chasing emails as the significant amount of money was needed for the next property, but they didn't seem to really care! Both my (ex-)landlord and I are glad to see the back of Ewemove, unfortunately I think they are understaffed in Salisbury and/or 'neglect' lettings/tenants even though it's a whole section of the business. It's a shame!
Horrid experience with this deceitful unprofessional and irresponsible ‘company’. Pay the extra few £‘S and go to someone reputable!!
