We rented Orchard Cottage in Ickleton. Intercounty were the letting agency. Set-up was ok; they took their cut for doing little, we moved in. Toward moving out date it came to light our necessary follow-up comments to the check-in inventory had never been filed! E-mails replied with 'we cannot comment' fob-offs. Biggest gripe; Intercounty filed paperwork to return our initial £1800 deposit, but done minus 27% for 'alleged' rent arrears. Fact is, we had evidence to prove we were not in arrears, but Intercounty were not interested & accepted the landlords lies. So we were stuck in a 100 day wait for the remaining 27% of our deposit to be returned, which it was after an independent inquiry found we were not in arrears. Yet with with just an inkling of common sense & briefest amount of time to look at our evidence, Intercounty could've saved all parties the time & hassle of that procedure. But let's face it, the only side they're currently making money from is the landlord, David Human.
