At the start, it was all very good. We received professional help from Lauren and she greatly helped us rent a nice home. But we didn’t know we had to have a mind like a detective to protect our deposit from false claims and untrue facts. So, if you rent, be very watchful and take photos everywhere. We checked out after a year, leaving the property clean and tidy. We washed the whole carpet and did a very thorough clean. But the landlord claimed the carpet was not hoovered and dirty. After we vacated the property, we saw on their website that they advertised the property featuring photos that look exactly like the checkout photos I took. Why do I know? Because the hoovering lines left in the carpet are exactly the same. The ad was later taken down when I wanted to find evidence to support my dispute. Also, the dispute amount went from £50 to £185, which was inconsistent and unreasonable. We should have taken photos of every single corner, door frames, sockets and all other hidden places, including the toilet hole. (There was unremovable stains at the right beginning. We tried to clean it but had to live with it. And of course, we were falsely claimed).
