We completed on the purchase of a house being marketed by Newton Fallowell (Retford) at the end of September. I have to say that if it hadn't been for the hard work and determination of Mandy and the other staff there, we would most likely still be waiting to move now nearing the end of October! Our own estate agents in Nottingham were very poor in comparison and we found that in order to get anything progressed with the sale of our old house, we (and our buyers) had to chase all the way throughout the process. (The fact that I wrote a 4 page letter of complaint about our own estate agent should give an indication of the problems we had selling our old property!). Mandy was excellent at giving advice on what we needed to do and when and guided us through the whole process. She was also very friendly, good humoured, reassuringly professional and focused on getting any issues sorted. Unlike our own estate agents, we had total confidence that any information shared with any staff member there would be passed to the relevant person and be acted on as soon as possible. It wouldn't be too much to say that the staff at Newton Fallowell were key in keeping us updated about what was happening all the way throughout the chain and went above and beyond to ensure the sale/purchase finally went ahead when agreed. Even whilst still waiting for confirmation of completion at 5.20pm on move day, Mandy was looking at alternatives to how we could still move into our new home on that day, working a longer day to offer support. Thankfully it didn't come to that in the end and we completed at the last minute! They say that moving house is stressful; moving house during a pandemic is worse! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Newton Fallowell to market our property should we ever be ready to move house again. Other estate agents who claim to be 'market leaders' could learn a lot from the staff team in Retford on how it really could and should be done.
