We were feeling a little bit uneasy after moving to the UK from the states and being burned by a number of agents. After being cited fees that were extremely high (almost a full months rent by one agent) we found Winkworth. Many agents were not straightforward and even tried to hide their ridiculous fees. Having recently dealt with a lot of estate agents in Reading, Winkworth’s professionalism really stood out. Always on time to appointments and knew a lot about the properties we were viewing, which as we discovered, is not true of all agents! Once we had found a property we liked, Robin in particular spent a lot of time going through the reasons why we had offered what we had, our own circumstances and discussing comparable properties for sale/sold, before presenting our offer to their client. I felt that they actually cared about the quality of an offer as well as just a number on a page.
