1-Star Review We recently enquired about a rental property on Middlesex Drive, Bury, through Martin & Co Prestwich. I explained to Dayna Green MARLA that we do not have a home guarantor but that we are both in full-time employment with a combined income of £80,000. She initially confirmed this would be fine and invited us to view the property. We travelled from Bradford with our children during rush hour to attend the viewing and found the property suitable. However, when we expressed interest in proceeding, Dayna suddenly insisted a home guarantor was mandatory. This lack of clarity and poor communication resulted in a complete waste of our time and effort. If the guarantor requirement was non-negotiable, it should have been made clear from the beginning. I strongly advise others to avoid dealing with Martin & Co Prestwich—especially Dayna Green Marla—based on our disappointing experience. Wouldn't even give 1 star.

Dear Mr Khan, We are sorry to learn that you were disappointed that you could not apply for tenancy at this property on Middlesex Drive in Bury. Martin & Co were instructed to Market this property on behalf of the Landlord. It was the Landlords choice on who he wanted to apply for tenancy at his property. This landlord was clear that any applicants wanting to apply must have a Home Owner Guarantor based in the UK to back up the applicants application. Unfortunately you were not in a position to supply a UK Based Home Owner Guarantor and therefore we were unable to accept you as applicants. Dayna is an experienced Lettings Negotiator with over 14 years experience and she did inform you of this at the viewing and it was also advertised in the online marketing of the house. I hope this clarifies our position on this misunderstanding and hope you have managed to secure a new home for yourselves.
