I have spoken to Jack in the sales team to ask about a property at Bertram Way NR1 because I noted it was for sale with this company. The reason for my enquiry to this company because I was given a tenancy agreement by a landlord who contacted me after I advertised on GumTree. The address on tenancy agreement was a 1 bed flat and the actual evidence on various sources including AbbotFox it’s a 2 bed flat. I originally checked on the Land Registry and the Landlord name was not on the Land Registry as the owner or the leaseholder. The lords personal address was given as Birmingham on tenancy agreement which was also difficult to find on Royal Mail post code search. He was determined to get £1,250 from me for rent+ deposit without viewing the property. I managed to bring him down to take only the deposit and then exchange the rent along with the keys which he was reluctant to do. My guts was telling me not even to go along with this. So I did other basic check thorough the internet other sources confirmed it was a 2 bed flat and not a one bed flat as stated in tenancy agreement and importantly through Zoopla I noted it was up for sale through AbbotFox. I contacted AbbotFox and spoke to good old Jack for which I am very grateful to him and I told him who the owner were from our Land Registry check and he confirmed the owners and he also said it is now sold to new owners subject to contract. I said “well well Jack you have just saved me from falling into a big hole and more importantly creating a hole in my pocket and losing £1,250”. It was clear to me from Jacks conversation that I was being scammed from all angles. So the motto of this review is never ever go with the flow always stop, think and importantly do your background checks. I thankyou Jack again in helping me to confirm of what I already feared.
