Following the passing of my mother, I was tasked with selling her house. I approached some national chain estate agents but was not convinced with their ability to obtain the best price. They all just seemed to want a quick sale for less than the house was worth! I was then approached by Sharon of Lion Estates, who happened to live nearby. She looked at the poor decorative state of the house, and recommended that if I spent a few thousand pounds on a complete internal redecoration, she could market it for at least 6-7% more than the other estate agents had offered. She took on the role of project manager for me, and arranged all the various trades to complete the work required, leaving me more time to concentrate on sorting out my mum's estate at this painful time. A few weeks later, Sharon was ready to put the house on the market, and within 2 - 3 weeks it was sold for the asking price. Obviously, it then took a couple of months to exchange contracts and complete. This was handled very smoothly by the staff in the Lion Estates office, who kept me informed at every stage. We went with renting our home out in the end - Dominic was supportive with advice, and always a phone call away (or quick return of a phone call) for any questions. He ensured our home was marketed for rental at the correct time, with professional photos and a personal, well written description. Rental was secured and all checks etc completed within a week.
