Having dealt with lettings agents in the past from both sides of the table, they all seem to suffer from the same failures - that was until I come across Red Key. From the very first introduction I was met by a very personable agent who had a vast knowledge of the local housing market. They thoroughly surveyed my property and gave me a realistic achievable sum which balanced income with speed of let - instead of inaccurate sky-high estimates which result in an empty property for long periods. The rates are fair and offer great value and service for the money - it is worth remembering from both point of view of the tenant and the landlord "you get what you pay for". They outlined certain things that I needed to do to the property before they would begin marketing, where others have turned a blind eye to in the past (elec, certs, suggested improvements, consent to let from lender and freeholder). I am aware of some of the lettings agencies ill-advising tenants and the leaseholders to ignore some of the covenants in the property's lease which often voids insurance and inevitably can lead to lease forfeiture - just in order to fill the property! Unlike some of the other lettings agencies they do carryout thorough checks and references on all prospective tenants before even getting so far as to query me - as with most lettings agents seem desperate to fill the vacant properties with anyone, regardless of suitability. Within days I had a suitable tenant offering the top end forecast, which resulted in a 24 month tenancy, without my involvement whatsoever during this period. They are always there at the end of the line and if not available will always return your call - customer service seems to be king at this organisation. From experience they are by far Newport's finest lettings agency and still after 5 years I wouldn't consider going elsewhere.
