Worst renting experience of my life! M&C thought they could just ignore the complaints we made against them...this is not legal, PLEASE GO TO THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES LIKE THIS. Communication: The staff are really rude and sometimes just flat out incompetent, won't get back to you unless it's about money they think they're owed in which case they'll email end of day saying they need money in the next 5 mins. The staff are bullying and aggressive both on emails and in person if you want to make a complaint Viewings: They do not adhere to the contract or law in giving 24 hours notice Repairs: we couldn't get someone over to repair until part of our flat flooded. It damaged some of our own electrical items and M&C didn't want to hear about it Cleaning: We got a professional clean end of tenancy and M&C claimed it was left in a mess and double charged us with their own cleaning agency Making complaints: M&C thought they could just ignore the complaints we made against them...this is not legal, PLEASE GO TO THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES LIKE THIS. I know several people where the ombudsman has ruled in their favour over M&C's appalling business practices and treatment. I personally was awarded hundreds of pounds because the agency broke so many rules and behaved so appallingly. Even during this formal process, they drew it out as long as possible. Martin and Co harassed me and my flatmate whilst we were in the tenancy and were horrible and stressful to deal with - please please just stay away. If you can't, read through the other reviews and know your rights first. Most of the 5 star ones are quite clearly fake, new accounts with only a single review...
Worst letting agency I have ever dealt with. Rudeness of Jess is just appaling, she can look for another job if she doesn't like her own so much. Important communication is not sent with the correct subject and acknowledgement of receipt not checked, very unprofessional. Due to covid has been basically impossible to get in phone contact with them, very difficult to use just email when you're moving and do not have internet access.
Worst letting experience of my life. Poor communication: they do not provide any information useful for your stay. - Despite I took an appointment in advance to visit a flat, no one showed off. After one hour and three calls someone opened me the door. - The flat was okeysh, I take it, I receive a confirmation. Few days before getting in still no emails or information. I contact them and I discovered that I had to transfer money and sign contracts in a hurry. Of course.. too late, I had to spend one night in a Airbnb. - Forget support during your tenancy - At the end of your tenancy, no information at all about how to do the check out, such a surprise. If something is going wrong, it's your fault. They just make you sign stuff with your phone without even have the time to read it. Totally unprofessional, stay away from them.

AWFUL! When you do get a reply, and that is rare, they will send you a video on whatsapp without any introduction/hello/information on what it is. When you ask for more info they simply reply 'no'- Worst customer service I have experienced from a lettings agent and that is quite hard! Avoid

Martin and Co is the worst company to rent from, please stay away from them. Long story short I viewed a property and I paid the holding deposit and arranged to move in to it, they made no effort to contact me or inform me on anything after they received the payment. The day before the “move in” date i called them to get an update on whats going on and they tell me the property is no longer available. How is that fair. Wasted my time when i was in a rush to find somewhere to stay.
