I rented with Stow Brothers for three and a half years in Walthamstow. I would not recommend their Property Management service, largely because there is no service. Whenever we raised problems with the property, including a serious, systemic mould issue, a failed gas safety certificate and dangerous wiring, we were always given the run around.
They take an exceedingly long time to respond and never provide updates. When they do send a contractor round, it takes the Property Manager so long to act on the recommendation that a second contractor then needs to be sent for an up-to-date quote, and so no work ever gets done.
This may be partially the fault of the landlord for failing to respond in a timely manner, but the Property Manager's job is to ensure that both parties abide by the contract. The Stow Brothers never made any attempt to speed up the process of repairs and instead made it very clear through their actions that their priority was the financial benefit of the landlord and not the health and safety of their tenants.
In desperation we were forced to report the landlord and Stow Brothers to both the Mayor of London's Rogue Landlord Scheme and the Waltham Forest Selective Property Licensing Team for breaching standards.
